all around you!
recently they started showing Due South in its entirety on one of the satellite channels here.

i used to watch it as a child, and aside from the (half) wolf called Diefenbaker, my abiding memory was of the most uplifting guitar-intro ever.

well, i saw it was on last year and absent-mindedly switched over - only to be brought to the edge of absolute joy by a cheesy, delay-drenched guitar intro. this shit is better than e.

anyhoos it turns out it's actually a real peach of a program. certainly by the end they were absolutely happy to experiment with surrealist fuckarounds, bizzare happenings and nonsensical in-jokes. it can be terribly funny and terribly moving in the same episode; can address genuine and serious issues with some delicacy and poise and is overall quite entertaining. it's full of little self-referential scripting moments and is i think a Fine Program which also contains no small amount of moral insight.

hurrah for dated but still eminently watchable programs!

Awesome...awesome...awesome
Loved the show and still do when I catch it on TV. I am biased of course being Canadian, but it was a real well written, well acted show. Seriously people, if you can get into it. You won't be disapointed.

Yeeeaahhhh...!!! :D

I loved that show when I was a kid. Ever since then, I've wanted my very own husky/wolf. The first two seasons were the best - purely because of David Marciano's involvement.

As you suggest, the thing just drips with sentimentality - but it's such a good programme to watch! In fact, I can think of nothing better than sitting on the couch, wrapped in a warm duvet, with the snow falling outside, and watching endless repeats of Due South while smoking a spliff.

Ahhhhhh... :D

Can't say I ever saw anything worth my attention in this show, just another one of them time fillers as far as I knew. I vaguely remember when it was on Tv a few years ago, but I never had a reason to watch.
