tv: Does anybody else watch Drawn Together?

I think it's the funniest show on TV. Just bought the first season, does anyone know if season 2 is out yet?


I would have to say my favorite characters are Toot and Captain Hero.
 
I download the episodes from iTunes. That show is hilarious. "Strong Zander, strong Zander!" I'm not sure if season 2 is up yet, though, need to check.
 
personally i think the show is terrible, and just another example of how everything comedy central produces is just shock-value attention whore garbage (stone and parker dont count, neither does chapelle).
 
huh. I actually find Drawn Together to be very funny. I think South Park and Chappelle are two of the least funny but wish they could be funny shows on tv. I know I am probably in the minority in this, but what can I say, I like Beavis and Butthead. I think all three of the cartoons display the same trashy humor, different people have different tastes.
 
I don't like the show very much. It relies so heavily on the caricatures each character portrays that it's entirely predictable 90% of the time, and the few times that it does get a good laugh out of me are totally outweighed by the boringness of the rest of it...
 
I have a friend who thinks the show is the best thing ever; for me though, it's okay. I've seen some real good gags and laughs on the show, but most of the time it feels like the show is trying too hard to push the envelope.

For instance, "South Park" and its characters know the comedic value of understatement and playing it straight. In contrast, with "Drawn Together" I feel like I'm getting hit with a sledgehammer, over and over. As an aside, this is the same reason I didn't care much for "Animaniacs"; the show spent so much time trying to overwhelm you with gags and sophisticated in-jokes that it let the potential and flexibility of animation itself fall by the wayside.

For the record though, my favorite character is Toot. My friends and I know a girl that we call Toot behind her back, because of her resemblance to said character. ;)
 
shows like south park and chapelle are obscene in making very good points about politics, mainstream lifestyles, and world society as a whole. you may agree with the points they make, you may not. the focus isnt on obscenity (except for season 1 and part of season 2 which were created in that manner simply becase the shows producers know how to gain attention). at times, the show is very intelligent and crafty.

drawn together? you may as well just disembowl a newborn baby, laugh at it, then have some fat midget shake his wang around in a circle and then watch a miss america pagent winner enter a hot dog eating contest till she pukes. what is the point?

comedy central sees the marketable value of certain shock elements found in some of its more original programming (south park for instance), and then rides on it.

take mind of mencia for instance. do you not see this guy is just some toolbox puppet? yah actually i find the show funny sometimes, but all it is - is comedy central trying to ride on dave chapelle's disregarded robes. they see that dave chapelle's comedic approach to racist ideals and dealing with sociological issues in america (and elsewhere), and they see that it produces views and viewers. viewers = money. after chapelle's exodus, they see all they need is a minority figure to make funny and obscene jokes about racism to get attention.

drawn together is the same shit. i find it offensive because it insults my intelligence.
