TV: Battlestar Galactica

Yes, I know...I've sort of maxed the current amount of diskspace I have, at the moment.

AHHH! Anyone kept up? Another great season. This show has succeeded in every place that that Steven Bochco turd Over*There has failed on ("Lets shock america by showing it war! Oh look,no one is watching!")

For anyone that didn't see the season finale don't read on but....

...

did the Cylons LEAD the Pegasus to the Galactica knowing that that Admiral is fucking psycho?

Also: the first Human/Cylon +almost+ rape scene. GO SCIFI!

And honestly, will the fighter wings of the Pegasus actually attack another Confederation ship? What purpose would it serve? Why the fuck are they going on the offensive against the entire cyclon military w/ only 2 battlestars, even IF the Pegasus is a way more advanced design? Is the Admiral a cylon. The admiral has also barely even acknowledged that a civilian government is in place, and even though the President is only the former Secretary of Education, the system should hold and she'd have toe answer to the President. Besides, the Pegasus' fighter wings seem to have a far less effective commander, things on that ship are the Rule of Fear, there seems to be little camaraderie, and all they have to live for is killing cyclons, not trying to save the human race. AHAHAHHAHA! I love this show.

Truly the only decent scifi on television right now. What would I do if this went to shit? I'd be stuck watching Lost. :D

thank goodness for tivo...

This show is the fucking bomb.

Traditionalists... don't compare the original idea to the current series. Look at it like this, they took the idea of the story, along with all the names, and re-wrote it. Simple as that.

I never got into the original series much, but I do remember it. To the mind of a 70s child, Lorne Green can't be Adama... because he's Mr. Cartwright. That threw the proverbial monkey wrench in it for me from the start.

This new series is leaps and bounds past the original idea, and with the updated sci-fi twists and vastly superior writing and research skills it's far more stimulating and attractive to the adult mind. That and Starbuck is hot. Fucked in the head (then again, who isn't?), but hot.

I enjoyed the "journalist" episode with Xena... though I'm not sure how I feel about her being a recurring character (I can only assume this of course).

The only things I don't care for...
dependancy on religion
Boomer the Cylon
Col. Ty- What a dick.
Balthar- I can understand the drarma of the character, but I think they take it a little too far. Too much struggle with his personality flaws IMHO, either you are a scoundrel or not... but then a scoundrel wouldn't be such a little bitch.

I have a feeling this show is going to go the way of Farscape... develope a huge cult following and then get fucking cancelled. But what do I know, I still miss The Invisible Man.

I wont have cable for another week or two. Damnit! :X

I miss this more than I miss the prospect of missing new HBO shows. :(

Man, I wanna keep this thread going. This is about the 3rd TV show that I have been totally addicted to (besides cartoons), the other two were six feet under and the X-Files.

Yah so, I'm wicked excited for the 3rd season, lets count down or some shit.

And my fav character is Gaius Baltar. I used to hate him at first, a selfish british prick. But then he turned into the character you love to hate. And now I simply love him. Real good character development. That's all I gotta say for now. Oh yeh, and boomer is hot (The asian cylon)

But let me say this. Why do Cylons want to kill humans, their creators? That would be like us killing apes. Cause if you believe in evolution, then technically they are our creators. I'm on episode 14 of the second season, The blackmarket episode.

I love the new BSG. Im addicted to it. I actually blew off playing cards with my freinds on Fridays to see the new episodes when they aired lol.

Well I just got done watching the miniseries and I loved it, I don't understand why people must say 'if this one is good, the other one must blow' or vice versa as they both have their merits. I have also seen one episode of the new season and I enjoyed it immensely so i'm looking forward to more good stuff to come. New episodes are still airing and I have 3 seasons to catch up with. Nice! Any other BSG lovers out there ?

Bump. Season 3 just ended with a bang (so I hear) , and i'v just gotten to the beginning of season 2 and i'm loving every minute of it! I am bumping this because I -know- there must be some other BSG lovers out there! Stand tall!

For the past two nights, my roommate and I have sat up from midnight until 7-8 am watching every episode (for the first time) of Battlestar Galactica back to back. We haven't been 100% efficient so we're only on season 2 right now. This show is completely awesome. There are so many layers to it. I love it and I can watch it for 7 hours at a time, no problem.

When I wake up at 4 in the afternoon, I'm bombarded with all these memories of what's going on the world of humans vs. cylons. It's like when you work all the time and start doing work in your sleep, except a lot better. The episodes are so continuous and there are no forgotten elements. I also like the CGI style for the space scenes, how it shows a far away shot and then zooms in really quickly in a way that might emulate a real camera. Sometimes the emotion levels get pretty high in this show which is pretty rare for a show.

Starbuck is my favorite character, although all of the characters work together really well. I like the continuity - there are no incidental episodes in the big picture. Somehow every episode is completely satisfying despite the constant desire to know more. I couldn't imagine watching this on television and waiting for new episodes, though. That would kill me. It's hard enough to go to sleep knowing there are more episodes to be watched.
