Turning Morphine ER into IR with a cup of water? (IUSTF)

I have a few Morphine ER's by Endo Pharms, and someone told me that dropping them in a cup of water for a day will turn the solution into complete IR.

Is that true? If so, how many mL of water should I use per pill? And how long should I let them dissolve before the solution completely turns IR?

I'm going to take the solution orally BTW, despite the pic. Thanks in advance.

What about just dropping the pills in a glass of room temp water and waiting 24 hrs? I was told that works.
 
Water with Ascorbic acid added....Probably any citrus Juice.....Dont The Endo ER Morphine's Gel When wet???
 
Yeah thats what I was Getting at...It Traps The morphine within the Gel or something,the slightly Acidic Water/Juice Method works well with ER Hydromorphones And Oxycontins though.I personally dont really find That Just Crushing an Extended Release Pill Fully beats the time release,I would have Always better results from dissolving 120 mg's worth of Hydromorphone 12 mg ER Capsules (Damn Hydromorph's low Oral B/A!) and 100 mg's of Oxycontin in Cranberry Juice Or Water with a little bit of ascorbic acid from the little Vitamin C Packs from Needle Exchanges and letting it Sit ever night in the fridge and Drink it down when I wake up,Then I would have if I woke up,Crushed the pills to powder and downed the powder.....Also Coffee,Tea or some other Hot Beverage always seems to help speed up the absortion of Crushed ER Opiates for me.
 
I have had the contins as well like Footclan said. I tried letting it sit in just plain nroom temperature water for about 40 hours. No dice.

Heating it up and removing the gel with your fingers seems to be the way to go, IMO

definately going to try that method next time i get my hands on some
 
There is a logic problem with the finger dipping idea.

The way I see it, there are two possibilities if you put the crushed up morphine in water for a long period of time.

1. The morphine seperates from the gel and dissolves in the water--in which case it's a waste of time to get the wax out. Just drink the cup.

2. The morphine becomes entrapped in the gel--in which case it's a waste of time to get the wax out...because you'd be taking the morphine out as well.
 
well, there doesn't seem to be any better alternatives, besides getting IR tablets and effectively avoiding this entire discussion, entirely. Any new findings, please post so we can all learn/share with eachother!!
 
It definitely works.

I used to peel, then crush a handful of MST's then add it to a cup of boiled water and stir.

You are only left with a very thin layer of wax on the top. If you dip a cold spoon in and out, the wax that sticks to it will harden. If you taste that wax it just tastes like candle wax - not bitter like morphine at all.

Adding MST to that much boiling water appears to completely destroy the anti-abuse mechanism (not that it hard to get around for IV, but meh, I hate IV morphine).
 
Its not gonna taste good, but just chew it up. Keep grinding between your teeth, its easier with the front ones, and when all is dissolved just swallow. Much easier than the other methods described.

I used to do at least 10x60mg at a time. Can you honestly say that holding your nose and downing a cup of semi-bitter liquid in on go is worse than chewing a load of MST's in your mouth?

Not only would the pills not be getting smashed up enough - but the experience would be far worse. Just the thought of doing that makes me gag - and this comes from someone who is more than "knowledgable" in co-codamal CWE!
 
can anyone tell me if there is a better way to do fentanyl patches? I have simply been chewing on them for a couple of hours and then swallowing them. I get high, but not high enough! There has to be a more efficient way of taking these. I can't afford to buy more.

Why don't you keep your fent questions in your fent post..
I get the 60mg ER's to. I just chew them up, works fine with me.
These also crush up to a really nice fine powder to, then dump in mouth and swallow.
Since these crush to such a nice fine powder, will snorting them absorb just as well as swallowing them.
I have been getting mixed answers on the snorting BA. Does anyone know which method would be better.
Oral or Nasal???
 
i put it into a table spoon heat it up to seaperate it from the wax and then dump the liquid and wax in a couple cups of water drink it and wallah
 
could never really feel morphine er orally. IR is a different story altogether. There Grrrreat!!
