Turn that FROWN upside down jnr, or not. Why the upside down smile?

Yeah, two different financial institutions. What are the chances?

And yep, the bank has refunded one of the transactions already (they generally do.) They haven't refunded the others though because the transactions went through as 'card present' (which it wasn't because I still had it) and so they're requesting documentation from the stores.

Here's some cheerful non-creepy Good Riddance lyrics to put a bright spin on things:

Somebody's following you home at night
and they're into what you throw away
Bills and statements, date of
birth, social security
It's all they need to file your life away

And they're wide awake
They got wild, staring eyes
Make no mistake
They will appropriate your lives

ROCKING!

That "pigs are tortured to make pork" ad I saw the other night while I was eating sausage duo pizza was saddening. I knew all that stuff, But they had video of pigs all dirty and sad looking. I love pigs. They're intelligent and have curly tails. When my dad has them I rub their snouts. Their flesh is so delicious though. I don't have any problem with them being killed and eating them, it's just being nasty to them during their life that bothers me. If only I lived closer to my dad, then I could just have some of the ones my dad has slaughtered, because he is quite nice to them.

Does any one know of any farms that humanely raise animals for meat in Australia?

Yes, there's many farms that treat pigs like people not commodity...

Meat is business.

If you want humane meat, buy your own pig, raise it lovingly, then ever so tenderly smash its skull in with a shovel.

Do you have any advice on how I could go about finding and purchasing ethically raised meat? I don't think people would be very happy if I kept a pig in my apartment or in the communal garden. I suppose I could just google.

Oh, were you being sarcastic when you said "Yes, there's many farms that treat pigs like people not commodity..."?

I know there are some, at least in other countries, and I know my father treats his animals well. Like I said, I don't have a problem with the killing and eating of animals, just the thought of them going through painful lives.

Yeah, sarcasm is my middle name.

I don't think you're going to find 'ethical' meat on a supermarket or butcher shelf. It's probably not economically viable.

I have a weird view point I think, I'd eat meat if it were still natural to hunt down fauna with little technology, it has a chance at life, has a chance at escape, nature in essence. I hate the concept of genetic slavery of entire species. We cross breed animals until they've no natural instincts left, treat them like shit, then kill them. Then every jerk thinks they have the right to criticise me for not eating meat whilst their stomach bloats from not expending calories to catch their calories, adipose stored for the calorie drought that will never come. THAT'S FUCKING NATURAL!

Lostpunk, I definitely respect your point of view and the fact that your behaviour is in line with your ethics. There's a lot of things I think are fucked up but I don't do anything/enough about.

With regard to your specific "natural to hunt" point of view, what do you think of kangaroo meat that is from culled animals? It's not hunted with low-tech equipment, admittedly, but the kangaroos live their normal lives and only experience human intervention at the end. They're very low in adipose tissue as well.

I've been having a bit of a look on the web and it seems that at least for pork, any meat labelled "organic" must be free range. http://pastureperfect.nourished.com...ified-free-range-pork-what-is-the-difference/ I think it might be the case for all meats but I'm not sure yet.

Also apparently there's quite a few small farms that try to be humane and are organic and so on like Rendinas, who say on their website
"Certification guarantees that the animals have been grazed using humane management practices, ensuring the cleanest possible meat, and a healthier future for the body and the environment."

These meats cost a lot more than regular meat, of course.

I'm too drunk to have an opinion, I'm kind of ethically anti killing roos because they're a problem we've borne upon ourselves by hacking native vegetation and providing food sources to support plague proportions. If there was no grazing land would kangaroos be a problem? But yeah on the other hand they still lead relatively natural lives, not farmed, and not genetically watered down into subservient dullards so...

But pigs are an introduced species. Shouldn't we be trying to eradicate all non native animals and leave the country how it was 3 million years ago?

Besides every one knows that all of today's pigs are direct descendants of two feral pigs once owned by Ned Kelly. They had a genetic predisposition to crime and were evil. Large pork producing facilities are are just selling the end result of our penal past.

I was eating bacon on my baked potatoe while watching that ad Vanth and I could swear I could taste the cruelty...... mmmmm sweet delicious cruelty.

Ugh. My friends brother is an artist in the UK and he recorded a single with an Aussie pop act a few months ago. They told him they probably wouldn't release it as a single but it might end up an album track. Fair enough. Said pop act are now releasing it as their lead single off the album and they didn't even give him the courtesy of a phone call. Even worse, they haven't credited him in any of the press they have gotten and you can very clearly hear him singing in the song. Moral of the story - fuck Aussie pop bands.

I AM IN SERIOUS PAIN!

Not only have I had a molar basiclly explode in my head today, but it is the day before my chemistry final exam. Which, if this is anything to go off, I am missing.

FUCKING HELL!

I have always had fucked teeth, but never, ever teeth pain, let alone gum, jaw and entire head pain. I'm stuck at my house my myself, as my housemates have gone out with my exes, the dentist cannot see me until monday (its thursday), the hospital dentists are chocks, and the VERY earliest I can get an appointment is tomorrow if one of the other emergancies dies, but I don't like my chances according to patient lady on phone.

So now I have missed my final exam (emailed the boss man, but you know how quick they are), and I have a shitloads of stuff to prove to them in the menatime.

Oh man this is not fun. Its like giving birth to quintuplets with teeth, through your gums. FUCK!

Why can't I find any pain killers?!?!

Unfortunately they are closed. The bastards. I am unfortunately completely home alone, with no means of transport, or ability to move. I have never felt pain like this. Fuck it hurts. I just wish I could get enoujgh purchase on it to give it a good rip.

At least that would be that/
