Turn that FROWN upside down jnr, or not. Why the upside down smile?

Yeah but you not noticing them getting any worse is different to them rotting away on the inside.

I stupidly left a tooth that had a chip in it because it didn't hurt at all and eventually found out that's what had happened - only just got away with fixing it with a filling, apparently I was || this close to a root canal =\

Whitening toothpastes just contain some sort of abrasive to "polish" your teeth. That's all.

Feel so shit, got assignment date wrong and instead of still having two weeks it's due on Monday. The worst part is the gf is going overseas on monday so was looking forward to spending time with her before she leaves. Now i'll be spending all weekend in the library.

Feel so sick with nerves, if i can't do it i have no one to ask for help and will probably seal a fail for this subject.

Every six months or so I used to happily think to myself "I'm so glad Hey Hey it's Saturday is no longer on, it was such a terrible piece of crap". This has been taken from me.
I

I never saw it back in the day as I only moved to Australia in 97 I think it was. I have seen parts of it recently and it looked like utter shite, also how the fuck is 'Hey hey it's Saturday' airing on a bloody Wednesday night? It is senseless!

Busty I have 4 baby teeth on the top of my mouth, only 2 are directly next to eachother and one baby tooth on my bottom jaw. I have not even enquired about this since I was 17 but I was told it would be 18-20,000 to get implants put in.

Given I would of been covered at the time I was told this but had to wait until I had to pay for it myself because my mouth wasn't mature enough until exactly my 18th birthday I have always regarded dentists as crooks. I am aware this is a generalisation and there are probably decent dentists out there and this is just an opinion of which you are free to disagree with. Not much will ever change my mind on the issue though.

If you didn't watch Hey Hey back in the day then you won't get it. I LOVED that it came back, such a blast from my childhood. I had to have a laugh at the 'blackface' racism drama because it perfectly outlines why the show shouldn't come back for good. It's a different world (which isn't necessarily a bad thing!)

Dentistry is ridiculously expensive and should be subsidised. Dental health is so important for everyone that I'm surprised that in a wealthy, developed country with an otherwise decent healthcare system there aren't provisions for basic dental work.

Anyway, I haven't been to the dentist in about 12 years now. I'm sure it will be GREAT news when I do go. :D

Yeah last time I went to the dentist she asked my age and then started laughing. Surprise, I haven't been back since.

Last time I went to the dentist (actually, it was an orthodontist) they told me I needed braces for an overbite. I didn't go back and, surprise, surprise, no overbite.

Moving to Sydney was great for the high amount of bulk billing doctors who literally don't give a shit what you tell them in regards to illness. They hand out certificates like they do nails in a hardware store. Oh yeah, master of the simile! Or not.

Its been a day full of abuse and stress, damn cold calling and damn school and its damn projects and my friend told me he thinks I have a drug problem :( , and the missus is all depressed aswell and I tend to bounce off her moods.

Funny up all night, my sister has recently been told by an orthodontist she has an overbite and needs braces next week to correct it. Maybe its all a scam?

My teeth are worse now than what they were before I wore braces for two years.

I have brushed my teeth everyday since i sprouted my first tooth and still do, I do my utmost to care for them but they fail me, i floss every second or third day. my tooth is shit. my mums and my dads tootheses were shit too. my old lady blew 30k on titanium implants screws and individually made teeth to go on them or some such at 50 so I know the money I'm in for down the track.

All my siblings are constantly going to the dentist.

I've got all wisdoms out, 11 fillings. I've had two root canals and need two more, the two I have had done have crowns on them. I have a slight cross bite where my jaw bone constantly clicks. A friend had the same thing and he had to have his jaw broken and realigned.

Genetics DO play a part in having shitty, weak teeth. Do not get me started on this. My mouth is a money pit.

Although, it's strange because to look it when I smile my teeth look fine and straight etc etc.

Busty should do package deals for Bluelighters with Resort Time and Buffet Breakfasts :D

I'm sitting here waiting for the Police to come to my house so I can make an Official report over an incident where a young bloke tried to get violent with me. Hopefully he is already in a cell at the moment, I shouldn't have to deal with that shit. I might have a shaved head and 1000mm shoulders but that doesn't mean anyone can try it on whenever they feel like it.

Flouride water... Free

Yuck Fluoride. Fluoride is such a sham that has been sold as something good by the Aluminium industry. It is toxic and not that good for you, there is also no scientific proof that it is actually any good for your teeth.

On another point my gf has booked me a dentist appointment today for a scrape and clean :(
I have an inherent fear of dentists, haven't been for probably 10 years 8(

I like drinking my tea black, with no sugar. Unfortunately, like this morning, I always forget that if I do this first thing in the morning it makes me vomit. Anyway, now I know why:

Black tea has a high level of caffeine and some people are very sensitive to caffeine however, this is probably not what is causing you to feel sick or even have worse symptoms like vomiting. Some people have very sensitive stomachs and immune systems. If you are one of those people, chances are, when you drink black tea, especially on an empty stomach, you might feel a little nauseated. Relax, it's not uncommon and it doesn't only happen to you. Many people feel this side effect when drinking black tea, especially if they are new to the drink or have a weak stomach.

So what exactly is happening?

The answer is, its the tannin in the black tea that makes you have that sick feeling. Tannin is an acidic chemical that is also found in bananas and coffee. In people that are not used to drinking black tea on its own or drink black tea on an empty stomach and have a weak stomach, it gives you that nauseating feeling if you are prone to its effects, especially if you are on an empty stomach.

How do you enjoy a cup of black tea and not feel this side effect?

The good news is that you can still enjoy your black tea without this side effect. This side effect from tannin in black tea is easy to get rid of; just pour in some milk with your tea. Black tea is easily adaptable to the addition of milk and the milk acts as a neutralizer to the tannin in the tea. It is a natural way to calm the reaction and have a safe buffer zone that won't make you feel sick and still allow you to enjoy your favourite black tea.

So I'll be sure to drink my black tea after breakfast from now on. And figuring that if it was due to the acidic nature of tannins heart burn tablets would help, now I'm feeling fine.

So yeah if anyone's bored and wants to vomit on a particular morning, drink black tea upon awakening.

I believe there was a thread devoted to the fluoride issue in Second Opinion, I'll try to dig it up for you. EDIT: found it! It was in Healthy Living. IMHO there is abundant research on the positive properties of fluoride and what it can do to a populations general dental health. The amount that is put into drinking water is negligible and has not been proven to cause any ill-effects.

Also, before I close my mouth in this topic, Busty has told me about several children he has treated who were born to somewhat 'alternative' parents who avoided fluoride at all costs - to the point of not even using toothpaste that contained it.
Cut to their child turning 4 or 5 and coming in to see him at work with a mouth full of rotten baby teeth. On both occasions the children had to have all of their baby teeth removed. Thankfully one of the parents decided to use fluoride on their next child and even went to the effort of putting fluride tablets in their water [as at the time QLD didn't have it in the water]. Surprise surprise, that child's teeth were in great health as they were developing.

Not giving your children proper dental or medical care is tantamount to child abuse in my book. I know it's not the easiest thing to do with dentistry not being subsidised, and I do think there is a definite case for a dental medicare-like scheme. I just don't think it's fair to suffer later in life for poor, mis-informed choices your parents make on your behalf when even the government goes to such great lengths to try to improve dental health with adding fluoride to the drinking water. 8)

Something I'm really frowning about today is celebrities whom I admire for their absolutely breath-takingl beauty who go and get plastic surgery, thus ruining or distracting from their good looks.

Keira Knightly, case in point. NO lip injections ever look good or natural. None of them! Even the surgeons are reluctant to do them.

Why oh why Keira?!
