maybe someone can help me figure out how serious of a problem i have. basically ive been smoking for about 3 years now and been aware i need to stop and made several attempts to stop for the past year n a half. i think the best ive done is stopping for about 5 days. ive learned to stop telling myself im done this time and just got use to knowing i should stop but not going to. ive messed up relationships with family and friends, ended up dropping out and ended up in jail. based of this can anyone clear things up for me? lack of motivation or a problem?

Sounds like you have made a bunch of mistakes the past three years with messing up personal relationships, dropping out and going to jail... If you've made serious attempts at stopping and can only manage 5 days without it sounds to me like you have a problem! How often to you dose? How much? Did you delete all meth contacts from your phone, cut connections with people who might help get you more?

You definitely have a drug problem, without a shadow of a doubt.

Call it addiction, call it what you like, but if you're having serious negative consequences like dropping out of school and going to jail at the same time as being unable to stop using for more than 5 days despite numerous attempts to.....you have a problem. Of that there is no doubt, your life is beginning to be controlled by the drug.

Do you want to stop using completely and forever? Welcome to bluelight, how can we help you? Give us some more information as to your usage and what you want from the future regarding your drug use and I'm sure there will be plenty of people on hand to offer some advice.

If you gotta ask yourself then you probably are
Do you find it hard to stop using?
Do you ever say never again which turns into two days later you getting high again?
Is your drug use negatively affecting your life?

If you answered yes to any of these questions then your in the right place your an addict and you will always be an addict once you are an addict.
