I am sure that this question has been asked in the past but I have my three year old running around and I really just don't have time to research this so please forgive me for asking if it has already been gone over. My background-
I had oral sugery on Friday to remove my wisdom teeth. The top two don't hurt at all but the lower back right, where the tooth was pretty impacted and the had to cut into the jaw to get it out, hurts like no other. Now I have an extremely low tolerance to mouth pain and a high tolerance to pain meds. I have been taking 8-12 norcos (10/325) a day since Friday. I ran out yesterday and my insurance won't pay for a refill until today. So yesterday I took 30 mg of methadone to control the pain (and WOW for a few hours I didn't even FEEL my pain, it was sooo nice) but today I am going to pick up my script for norco.
My question
since I took methadone yesterday, how many norcos will I have to take today to control my pain.
Will the norco's even work? I know that methadone is suppose to block the opiate receptors in the brain, but honestly I am not too educated in the neruoscience behind it like I know that some of you guys are.
Thank you so much for your help. This pain really blows and I still have work to do and mh youngin to take care of and be happy. If I'm in mouth pain then I'm a miserable person to be around.
