Dependence and addiction is based on your mental state, as every individual is different, and your circumstances. I'm in a similar position to you - took an interest into meth recently (a week ago), had my first experience with it last week and it was good. As for comedowns, well for me there are virtually none. I haven't abused or overused, maximum in a session was 1 point, however the shit I get I know its high purity 85%+ and uncut. For me, I prefer to get things done on a moderate amount of meth - you honestly can feel really normal, as if you haven't taken a substances throughout some points of my experiences with it. Everything is basically more stimulating and fun to do vs. being sober. I suppose that's how it reels you in, as you would prefer to get shit done on meth than sober. It's all on your mental state, if you feel you can use it a few times than put it down and save it for times when you want to have fun and party, etc. Then it is kept to times when you have the time to enjoy the drug, without worry about work or other chores. In comparison to MDMA, MD is much more drug-like and I have experienced worse comedowns on this substance. Your mind produces dopamine faster and greater than serotonin. The abuse potential of meth is very high though, as you can be awake for days consuming this substance. With MDMA, the effects are much more diminished as you take more.
So if you think you will go about your days after using, then I'd say go for it. Be prepared for a twelve hour experience at least, depending on how much you take. Don't exceed a point for first time, and even I thought that was a lot, however I've done so much MDMA, some speed (amphetamine) since last year, that the drug wasn't nearly as powerful as I'd imagine. Preferred method is smoking, oral is safest and longest action - will say that smoking meth can produce some 'cravings' and compulsive re-dosing if you have more available/can get more. Mind over matter, bro. If you have a strong mind, you won't fall into the evil addiction of meth, and with moderate use, can actually benefit from it, keeping side effects to a minimum.
