hi all

as you may have read in past posts of mine, i'm a tweaker. amphetamine is my drug of choice, and i have been using it for about 13 years now.

however recently my curiosity has drawn close to more psychedelic experiences, i have experimented with LSA quite liking the experience.

i'm planning that in the near future, i'm going to try LSD for the first time. i've already decided that i'm going to try it in a controlled environment such as my house, and i was wondering if anyone had some good advice to help me prepare for my first trip?

Make sure you really want to do it. Start out with just 1 tab and get a feel for it. If things get difficult (they shouldn't) you just need to remind yourself that you have taken a drug, and will soon be sober again. Make sure you are comfortable, well rested and not feeling sick in any way. Set and setting are also important. Tasks that are easy when sober become complicated and confusing on LSD, so make sure you take care of all responsibilities before you take it. Other than that, just listen to some good music and have a great time.

Try not to plan any specific activities in advance as you'll probably be feeling quite spontanous and feel occupied by things which would not normally interest you (I once spent hours studying the history of chess).

Also avoid at all costs any non-trippers coming in and you freaking out.

Start with one tab and see how it goes - bear in mind acid last for around 12 hours.

Weed is awesome with acid to.

yeah just do lsd by itself, it's much less confusing and lucid without the fog of weed.

For me weed amps the trip up and makes it better. I haven't gotten confused or anything like that.
Just my 2 cents.

Watch the movie Hofmann's Potion on youtube or google video. Seriously, it will dispel a lot of the bullshit that gets thrown around about LSD and get you thinking positively about the experience.

Weed is a must. You will also most likely crave cigarettes if you have ever enjoyed them.
Maybe, maybe not. Some people I know said cigarette smoke looks nasty while tripping and they would stop smoking for at least a week after the experience. I, on the other hand, chain smoke without even thinking about it.
Also, I personally don't usually like weed during psychedelic experiences. It changes the nature of the trip too much; I prefer just doing psychedelics straight-up. But if you smoke herb right after you've pretty much totally come down from a trip (without smoking during it), the weed is a lot more intense than usual.

I find that smoking weed during a trip prevents me from remembering a lot of the details when looking back...although it certainly adds its own effect to the trip...

To prepare: just make sure that you have everything that you want for the trip already set up. Make sure you have weed, any movies that you might want to watch, maybe turn off your phone. If you find yourself starting to go into a bad trip, just change your environment. Go outside and take a walk or something.

I try to leave my phone at home whenever I trip but I usually take it with me anyways. I just hope to never receive a bad text or phone call mid-trip, as it would probably ruin the experience for me.

L0L, would be a pisser speaking on the phone on a first trip, "Why is this chocolate bar talking to me?????"
Can't offer much in the way of advice, I'm planning to take a trip when I can get a hold of it. Do research, get your head right, and above all, DON'T get second thoughts halfway through.

OP, I'm planning on my first acid trip coming up very VERY soon as well, but the difference between us is, I'm a stoner (for 8 years and counting).

I'm planning on doing it when all my finals and stuff (grad student crap) are taken care of and I can relax, turn off my phone, and just listen to music/write/maybe some needle/yarn crafting, and go for a walk around my complex (i live in a sorta suburban area). I'll probably go as far as to write a trip report after I take it --- I've been wanting to do lsd for at least 6 years but haven't because I didn't feel ready yet...I think I finally am, and it's waiting for me.

I recently had my first acid trip and it was amazing. It was so amazing because I took it early in the day with three other friends and we went for a walk in the country to get as far away from anyone sober. Since it was early spring all the new buds and flowers etc. looked extreamly beautiful and gave me alot to think about (evolution/life a constant topic). We stayed out til sunset (which looked beautiful) and then went back to our house where we got the lighting nice a low (fairy lights are good) and listened to our favourite music/some new stuff/some cliched stuff (Sgt. Pepper's and Dark Side of The Moon are both incredible). We smoked weed on the come down and it brought us right back up to the peak of our trips. However, don't plan too much as someone else said, you will be feeling very spontanious (though, having pen and paper near by is a must).

Aslong as you are used to altered states of mind you will be fine (I've had a good training with weed XD). You just need to be confident in yourself and have nothing negative going on in your life. You also need to understand that you will be analysing the world completely differently to how you normally do, almost like a child sees the world. You will question everything, sometimes reaffirming your sober outlook, and sometimes smashing the concepts you currently hold.

Maybe read some Eastern Philosophy before you do it (not imediately before you understand, but in the weeks leading up to the trip). Alan Watts' audio lectures are also pretty amazing. The basic teachings of oneness with the world, that we came out of the earth, that you need not be afraid of death are very comforting when tripping. However if they're opposed to your current beliefs (if you are a Christian for example), then the clash would probably too much, and you'd be second guessing you entire belief system (which is not good at all).

I've seen the life affirming nature of LSD and it's incredible. I've also seen someone having a bad trip after she took too much in an environment she wasn't comfortable in and it was horrible, but you have to remember that if it is going bad, you WILL be fine the next day, if a little shaken. If you want a real mind fuck go to a store and buy something when you're still tripping. Interaction with sober humans is near impossible (you forget how to act normal, even though you are acting normal, and the constant second guessing of yourself is a real mind fuck, but it's a fun ride if you like that sort of thing).

The best advise really is have fun and have good trip.
