Trying Kratom for the first time

Okay, the initial question is against the rules, but the thread is about kratom now.

Off to BDD with you.

It's not going to give you the experience of a real opioid, kratom is not. It's not going to replace something like oxycodone. Kratom is more of a novelty in my book.😃
The shit sucks, I absolutely loathe kratom, its initial action feels very much like tramadol, but by the time you get that kick its already wearing off, I have been on tramadol every single day for 11 years, and in past year due to tapering I turned to the leaf to help fill in for missing doses, it does help mitigate WD, but my God, at what a price!

Its effect is all but over at the 40-70 minute mark, and it doesn't just sort of fade away, its a freaking devastating crash which provokes a horrifying onset of dysphoria, indeed if you eat anything beyond a couple of crackers, or a small cookie, it immediately inverts its action and you sink into a devastating dysphoric state which has to be a preview of what real hell would be like!

With myself, it provokes an almost compulsion to keep eating the shit as I am chasing that initial kick, its duration of effect is so ludicrously short, especially compared with tramadol which works for hours absent any dysphoric horror upon eating, or exerting self..... I hate kratom, its a terrible atypical opioid.

I agree by now. Tramadol is definitely better unless you want the short duration. And seing how much Tramadol itself is loathed around here I wonder why ppl can still do Kratom... Especially cause in combination it can be just as much of a bitch as Tramadol is... 😒

Tramadol works for hours, there is no crash, just a fade away, kratom on the other hand just shuts down and takes everything with it, including your sense of well being! At the thirty minute mark its onset is quite decent, very much like tramadol, but by that point its also waving goodbye to you, its absolutely maddeningly brief in its duration!

I only took 300 mg a day of tramadol, though for a very long time, when I have tried to replace it with kratom its always the same pattern, initial kick followed by this bomb of dysphoria at the two hour mark resulting in a strange compulsion to just keep on eating the shit, its absolutely horrifyingly short acting!

I cannot imagine anyone getting addicted to the shit, and by that I don't mean you cannot easily get addicted to it, I mean I cannot imagine the horror of that never ending compulsion to just keep shoveling the shit down, you cannot eat while taking it, you cannot take any prescribed medications because the shit interacts negatively with virtually every medication on earth, its just a gas station gimmick, I would urge folks to run, not walk away from that crap!

I agree with the sentiment, it's a dirty drug, and can even be very dangerous depending on how knowledgeable/caring you are about the precautions. However, it can, and does, help many people, just like lots of people have awful reactions to drugs, some people have great reactions. It depends a lot on the individual, their physiology and the circumstances. In terms of long and short term use, I would wager its much safer than bupe or methadone. Both of them are linked to mouth and stomach cancer, while the worst Kratom has is mostly unsupported claims of organ damage. Not that that's a great choice, but from experience, there is no opioid easier to get off than Kratom, physically. It's a partial agonist, with a relatively low binding affinity (except 7oh) and the only physical wd symptoms I've ever had is worse depression, diohrea and RLS for a few days. No genuine physical pain. Not saying you're wrong. It kills occasionally. But so do bupe and methadone, more often. Really if you're not an opioid addict or in pain, I agree you shouldn't use Kratom. Try a tincture, by the way. Takes a huge amount of nausea away and let's you focus on the experience.

Kratom appears to interact negatively with pretty much every prescription med you can think of, but the biggest bad interaction is with blood pressure meds, which is kind of a thing for anyone over 35 years of age, as about 70% of them are taking an ace inhibitor of some type or other.

You cannot mitigate its worst side effect with a zofran tablet as it is verboten with kratom, thus the nausea you get you just have to deal with, but the worst issue by far (at least for me) is eating a meal, you cannot do so, the kratom literally shuts off and takes you offline with it, a total inversion of the opioid kick is thrust upon you, as though all joy, or even just a neutral state of mind is sucked out of you and you are left in a horrifying state of dysphoria.

I still haven't a clue how a long time black tar addict could possibly use this shit to get off of the H, it doesn't seem possible that you could switch them on same day, you'd have to be off the H for a couple weeks I would think before using kratom, but you are right, everyone is a little different and no two experiences are really ever the same...
