Trvp! (The TRAP thread)

I don't know how I feel about flosstradamus' total recall ep. They stole records from Butterfly Effectz - In Your Life and Second Identity.

It'd make sense if it was just something they did during a DJ set. Putting it out there as a weak EP and not mentioning the original artists is just weak. They aren't making money off the release I guess. I guess its like if I took Michael Jackson Thriller and added Trap beats and called it "Zoombie Moonrunner"

Honestly I didn't know that, but I'll make sure to listen to the original records too. I agree with you about the DJ set / EP difference.

Edited the title so it comes up when searched for in the future. Bombo's thread had goofy characters in the title, and must have gotten purged or he deleted it. This is the new official TRAP thread

:D

RUN You guys!
The Trap is closing! The World is Caving in.
I think i'm being chased by Big Niggas with guns, who wanna rape me!
Why does trap music make the world feel like it's getting smaller in an Anxious and Paranoid kind of way?

Trap is gettin a bit too popular for my liking here in So Cal but I will admit that some trap goes hard, like this song. I agree that if there's gonna be trap playin I don't want any of that melodic pussy shit...

for some reason i feel this song represents some sort of electropsydubtrap infusion

The whole 808 sound with trap is great but if im rolling i'd rather hear some upbeat music
now codeine with trap is great but for festivals anything over 145bpm and im geekd :)

^^ EPROM is a the tits! Check out his old mix of his if you haven't already. Contains that track plus other goodness....

Also really love this tune by Starkey.... Beta Tester!

Have that track plus loads more non trap bizness over at a mix I did.

Hope you enjoy!

i responded to this thread earlier thinking it was about drug-selling rap music, now i know what it's about, started listening to this stuff a few months ago and it's dope. a lot of it is the same though.

but ya this stuff i don't think will last all that long, probably has an even shorter window than dubstep had with all the copying going on.

that said i'm bumping this shit a lot, been mixing this instead of house/trance etc. while djing at my crib. (not good enough to gig yet.)

There's very few trap songs I like but the ones I do like I really like haha, but when trap sets come on at shows I generally leave, it gets really boring and is really not my style.
Dubstep, drum and bass, and glitch hop will always be my favourites

I really disliked trap in the beginning. I was worried it would bring the "wrong people" to music festivals. its starting to grow on me though. I'm really into some of the dubstep/trap crossover. trap-step, if you will.

Trap is just getting massive right now. (producers may find that statement punny). There is an insane amount of good shit coming out. I like bass heavy music though. I really only trulely enjoy trap, DnB, downtempo, hardstyle, some electro house, dubstep anyway.
I really suggest checking out Big Chocolate's Red EP and The Clean EP, the ladder being my all time favorite. Also, check out XXYYXX for some ambient downtempo trap, as well as Ta-Ku. Ta-ku is a fucking animal when it comes to producing. the sample king i swear. Flume, L D R U, Hayden James, Wave Racer are sweet as well, for some reason australlia is killing the music scene right now. so many good vibes from over there. When it comes to heavy trap i really dig RL Grime, Floss, Debroka, Gent & Jawns, Loudpvck, gLAdiator, Mayhem, Hucci, Blvck, Flaxo, UZ. Many more as well. Too many to list really lol.
Check out this remix Debroka did of Blasterjaxx- Mystica. that festival big room sound is sweet.
