How much do you trust test kits like EZtest?
I trust my test kit to an extent but of course only using a test kit such as the ez test which is a marquis reagent based kit it is again not going to be perfect at telling me what is in my pills although the main purpose is to indicate if a pill contains an md** substance.
If I had a more advanced test kit I would perhaps trust it more although the fact is that pills can contain more than one ingredient and this can produce a positive result for md** but that doesnt mean the pill doesnt contain other things, even with the ez test x-treme some mixes could be hard to work out.
Although ez test say if it doesnt test for just mdma/mdea by going blue with phase 2 then throw it away.
All the test kits could be seen to have some sort of areas where people could question the validity of results sadly.
Although I tell people all the time testing their pills is important and primarily direct them towards an ez test classic or another marquis reagent based kit, I still feel kind of unsure about doing this as a pill with mdma and pma in it would not be distinguished by using this test kit so in after using a test kit people could come under some danger.
Does that mean people shouldnt bother at all? No I think that having a test kit is important although it shouldn be used as a crystal guarantee that the pill is safe, even pills with just mdma in them can be see as dangerous depending on the user.
If the test indicated MDMA would you still trust it?
I dont think there is a test on the market which can say mdma well not without going into TLC plates but I am guessing you are refering to the commonly sold reagent kits then that isnt possible, as the reactions for the md** are all too similar for you to be able to judge what is definitely mdma.
You can tell what is md** of course with the marquis kits and you can even tell mdma/mdea apart from mda with the ez test x-treme because of primary and secondary amines. The mandelin kit which is more commonly known as the e2 also claims to be able to seperate these amines but the reaction can still be hard to define.
Again if you read my answer to your first question, my trust from a test kit reaction is there but its not something I am 100% with as I can see definite areas in which the reaction could indeed lead you into a false sense of security.
For someone that never tried it and doesn't know anyone who has what do you recommend?
It depends probably on where you live as different areas have different problems with different adulterants, the most advanced kit would be the ez test x-treme although if you lived in Australia where there is a big ketamine problem this wouldnt be as much use to you.
Also dancesafe have made a test kit which contains the mecke reagent which gives a yellow reaction to dxm enabling people to tell dxm apart from mdma and this would be of use to people in America and that is where it is from.
The e1 and e2 kit is probably recommended for those in Australia, dancesafe for those in America and ez test x-treme for Europe although most of these kits would work anywhere. You need to work out to what extent you are interested in what you are getting and obviously how much you care about making sure you know what you are getting.
Again the reliability can be questioned with all, most people still opt for a simple marquis kit as this can detect whether any md** is present and obviously if there is no reaction then dont take it.
There is a chart here which shows what all the test kits can test for and
