Troublesome "Connects"

Because of this i'm reminding you all to watch what you post so that you stay within the guidelines and follow the BLUA. a little history behind my question:

so ive been smoking pot since middle school but i recently discovered pills (oxy, hydrocodone) this past year.. one of my family members had a script so my friend and i would go crazy with that shit all year long on and off until we burnt through it all.

ofc both of us can get dro with a ring or txt, but it seems like with oxy.. everyone who claims to hav a connect leads you around from person to person until at the end of the night u find out that either someone "sold" the pills before u got there or theyre dry to begin with. now i read the site intro and i think i get what "no sourcing" means, but has anyone ever experienced that kind of hassle over gettin a specific drug from ppl with "connects"? :!

Most of my supplies come straight from the manufacturers, which speeds up the process and usually results in a purer (and cheaper!) product. But I do still have a couple of connects who source drugs through other dealers. With them, I'll sometimes have to allow up to several days for them to find the drug, and it tends to be more expensive because each person adds a small "mark up" for themselves. It's very frustrating that way, especially if I'm hanging out for a hit!

This seems to happen all the time with me. One time when me and my friend were looking for acid we had to go through 4 people just to learn that they had none. Theres a similar story looking for shrooms.
 
I have come across similar problems before. One of the only drugs that I am unable to find on a regular basis is LSD, but I know before hand that on any given day I try to find it, its a one in a million chance of getting my hands on it.

The only thing that really gripes me is when a friend of mine, has heard a rumor of so-and-so having acid. A manhunt begins where we go from one small town to another small town, calling cell phone to cell phone, to only figure out late that night that its already gone or so other line of bullshit. Nowadays, I would rather just not go looking for it, and wait until a friend of mine calls saying they have the product waiting for me. =/
 
I think the worst part about connects is when they say they can get it and when you start getting serious about it they completely shut up and ignore you. Like wtf? If you dont have it just say "no", i might end up coming back to you if you are honest, but if you aren't I'm not even going to consider going to you again!
I just dont understand certain peoples "logic".

lol so true. its "logic" ... or like someone trying to impress you? all i know is its killing me right now

i think they just want to sound like tough shit. That they can get any drug and that they're the man (or even woman, i know a few gals who pull this crap) but they pussy out when it starts to get real
 
yeah, people have often told me "so-and-so" can get anything you want, so I tell them to ask for a certain drug, and then I follow the lead and in the end they don't have a connect (various excuses).
 
Yea goin through connects is the worse part about doin the drugs, their either really cool and legit or the biggest douchbag in the world, usually a douchebag who thinks he's the shit cuz he's got what you want
 
I feel like alot of dealers, especially part time or new dealers will talk bigger than they can fulfill sometimes in order to attract a customer base
 
I hate dealers. 9 out of 10 dealers suck ass. Ugh. I wish I could get it from the store. Alcoholics have it kind of made in that regard... I dunno how I could stop drinking if I were an alcoholic and the shit was available all over the damn place and even advertised on TV.
 
Regarding oxy: It's one of those drugs that can't be fucked with. You can't cut it, you can't dilute it, you can't pinch it, and you can't soak it. It's a drug that disreputable dealers avoid because they have to sell you the pill, it has to be good, and the price can't be unreasonable. It's also a major heatscore to carry around, it's a bitch to acquire and EVERYONE wants it.

This is why oxy is such bullshit to get. I don't even try anymore because I have no connects which means hitting the street, which means going through a bunch of bullshit and risk getting ripped off or robbed.

It's funny because all my friends love opiates and we're all white-collar pussies who won't touch heroin. Someone out there could capitalize and make a fortune off of us.
 
one other thing i noticed about dealers,
especially weed dealers is that they
feel insulted when you tell them,
their product is only avarage in quality
or even worse.

there are so many weed dealers who
just started to deal that stuff, so they
can feel tough but have no clue about
the simplest economic facts.
 
Many years ago I regularly bough amphetamine sulphate off a dealer who was himself a major speed freak. He was a good connection in that he reliably provided a good product at a fair price. But he would get paranoid about getting raided and would hide drugs all over his house and then couldn't remember where he had stashed them. When you went to score you might have wait an hour or so while he ransacked the place trying to find the stuff - but he always came up with the goods eventually.
 
i try to tell my guys that ill pay extra for proper gear whatever it is, id rather quality than quantity. but a lot of dealers just wantprofit so i find this very frustraing and wen i link into a supply that is good i usually cum across powder power
 
^alot of dealers alsobuy dope that has already been cut to shit so you never know if it's cause they are dick or if they are in the same boat as you(getting shitty product passed off on them aswell).
 
First off, great idea for a thread! I will describe my experiences and hope I am not violating any terms of service here.

Dealing with the shady, shysty people in the world of illicit drugs is one reason I am happy not to be a part of it anymore. Someone above listed the problems inherent when one's DOC is pharmaceuticals, and that is spot-on.

Back in my heyday, when I was a pillhead and lived up north, my main suppliers were this couple, "friends" of mine, (hahahahaha), a husband and wife who were scripted hydro and xanax by this quack doctor. They were raging crackheads with no sense of morals or ethics, and were totally selfish and out to get everything they could. They would call me days before refill day, asking me if I could front money, and threatening to sell to someone else if I didn't. I happened to have a good job and they were unemployed, so this happened almost every fucking week. Then, on refill day, I'd have to get over there in the morning and wake their xannied-out asses so we could go to the pharmacy and pick up the pills. The female of the duo used to run with a band of "gypsies" and would try her shill game/fancy math on me all the time, trying to rip me off, and would become frustrated when I'd call her out on it. And, more times than I care to recall, I'd then have to drive them to their crack dealer's after we went to the pharmacy, as they never missed an opportunity to avoid using their own vehicle and their own gas.

I could write a fucking book about my dealings with these folks. They kind of had me over a barrel, so I had to kiss their white trash asses to get my shit.

On the other hand, we happened to know some people down in the projects who occasionally had pills, and my dealings with them were a lot more straightforward. It was straight-up business; I'd get cut a break if I bought a lot at once, and nobody there ever tried to rip me off. If that would have been a steady source, I would have dealt with those folks on a regular basis.

Don't miss that aspect of the life AT ALL.
