Hi.
I recently acquired a script for Dexedrine spanules, the capsules with the orange extended release beads. I'm prescribed two 15mg pills each day but a few times I have taken over that recreationally. The most I have taken is 3 pills orally every 6-8 hours, so 45mg at a time. I noticed that while my breathing is better at first, after being up all night and all day high, it begins to get a bit more difficult to take deep breathes. My breathing is fine otherwise and isn't labored at all or anything, and I can take a deep breath if I focus on it. It's more of an annoyance than anything.

Is this normal or should I be concerned?

I can get that, I think a lot of people do, and I don't think it's something to be afraid of too much. Any damage done IMO shouldn't be made worse by that or anything...

And you live in Quebec, so you're required to be addicted to amphetamines right? Except most people get those pressed street pills.

i would be concerned, yes.

are you experiencing tachypnea (rapid breathing?) problems from the dexamphetamine - it's a somewhat common side effect . i would speak to your doctor about it and consider sticking to your daily dosage or maybe even dropping. it may also be psychosomatic, possibly anxiety related.

perhaps a different stimulant medication may be called for.

No, no rapid breathing or anxiety at all. I feel totally fine in every way, just a little bit tired from being up all night and day. I don't have any anxiety at all, I am in a great mood even. My breathing is completely normal in every way except for the difficulty in taking a deep breath. It's also only after I've been awake a long time.

get some sleep then and try not to go on couple day benders. i think you'll find that solves the problem. i'd stil mention it to your doctor though, being discreet in how you explain it of course.
