Trippy Stuff to do while tripping

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but considering using a strobe light is pretty trippy especially while tripping - can I just ask if that would be asking for an epileptic episode?
LSD & nitrous apparently lowers the seizure threshold (I think), as I had at least one - felt like uh hypertensive or something.
I'm just curious what kinds of substances are contraindicated with what kinds of 'trippy stuff' ?

God the one time some "hip up to the moment character" 8) brought a strobe light into the room when I was tripping I was less than impressed - it broke my meditative like psychedelic trance in a most intrusive way :X

Other times I've encountered visual electrickery when tripping it's been with prior knowledge but I suspect the above mentioned first exposure to such "stimuli" (hah annoying distraction is much closer to the mark!) has left me permanently predjudiced.

Electronic sound however can be AMAZING

Fair enough ^^ still interested in the seizure/epilepsy association though...

Ontopic - just read the OP again, gotta say watching pictures on psychedelics never worked for me - most of all psychedelic art is unremarkable and way too prefabricated for trips. That's probably the pattern I discovered: prefabrication takes the punch out of spacing...

Drawing can be very interesting sometimes, I remember all the wiggly lines creating a sea of tentacles forming together an image - then when seeing my result again sober it was a sea again more than anything else :D

Go to the casino and attempt to play blackjack, fail, have a drink and then go waste money watching the pretty colour's of roulette spin, spin, spin!

If you are prone to seizures from flashing lights normally then strobe lights wouldn't be a great idea tripping. They are quite notorious for inducing seizures even in those without epilepsy - certainly make my head go a bit funny. Not sure if LSD and nitrous lower the seizure threshold but if it's a worry to you I'd maybe avoid flashing lights.

lay alone naked in the the dark with weird rain forest ambient tapes playing, goodbye self =D

When im by myself my goal is totally detach myself from this world and land into another dimension. I can only acheive this if i concentrate onto something for a while but usualy i get distracted and i come out from that "'trip" Its weird and hard to explain but for example whilst concentrating on a tile in the bathroom i felt like i was travelling in them then i got to a place where there were blue and white boxes or this other time when i looked at the floor and it was like a jungle with brown sand and i was part of a tribe, I find these sort of things pleasant but hard to acheive and cannot always do it. I was thinking maybe meditating. Are there any people who are experienced practicing these sort of things? like lights on or off? music on or off? and what pictures or things should i watch and etc. What would one need to think of whilst in the trip to acheive all this?

You can completely detach yourself from the world and land into another dimension, and you don't really have to focus or trip yourself out either. Just take some fine psychedelics.

examples of doses leading you out of this universe...

Method of Administration - Dosage - Chemical

IV - 75 mg - MDA
IV - 100 mg - Ketamine
IM - 5 mg - 2c-E
oral - 5g - mushrooms (all caps)

Riding a skateboard around a hilly city is a good one to, if you're the type of person that can stay in you're head enough to not drift off to much and potentially hurt yourself.

I strongly dislike strobe lights, in any sort of state. Lighting crews that overuse them bother me.

well, obviously glow sticks are awesome, as are any sort of lights, especially if you have music.

MC Escher is fantastic, both the transformations, the tesselations, and the impossible geometry stuff. also, alex gray

other than that, one of the best times i ever had tripping was playing poker with my friends. nobody could read my reactions, it was the best poker face ever. I also used to have a sorta competition with my friend where wed get fucked up as possible off psychs and then play chess.

Hahaha if i took all that i would prob die lol

I mean 5g of shrooms are pretty intense not to mention the mda plus k and 2ce. Ive done em all seperatley but that would fry my brain lol

^Not to mention fatal, but I think the doses were meant to be taken seperately.

And of course, sensory stimulation tends to ground you, so in my experience, dark, quiet and comfortable are the things to look for when seeking ego dissolution.

I just love exploring outside while tripping, especially walking down busy streets, all the headlights and sounds and moving objects... Bizzare, trippy scenarios, instances of giddy fear, it's great. If you can stay out of trouble.

Funny ideas ^

Last thing I want to say about stroboscopic lights: I too generally dislike fast flashing especially for prolonged periods, but there are exceptions like a few weeks ago I was rolling on euphoriants at a festival and at Venetian Snares live there were a lot of strobes. It was like my mind was molested but at this particular breakcore act it really induced a weird state of overwhelmed amazement. Interesting at the very least.

At home, it seems like a cool idea to me when you are tripping and you have a very dark room available to put a strobe at low flashing frequency. Then it won't be annoying and I'm sure it will produce some weird shit like the well known chopping effect combined with total tracers - right?

Another thing:
I got a Mindfold which is a comfortable lightproof visor. I think it's by Alex Grey and meant for meditation and of course tripping. I gotta say that is a very practical sensory deprivation item, nice that you can keep your eyes open and still get absolute darkness - somehow it's different than closing your eyes.
Say hello to mr CEV

A very simple tip: just lay down on a couch and envelop yourself in a big soft blanket - I've done this when I feel like some transformation or conscious processing is due and I get lost in the soft darkness to go on journeys that usually turn out to be pretty significant.

I'm yet to fuck on drugs.

Although i thought i was fucking when i was mushies once. The mushies were particularly juicy that batch, and i had no idea till it was too late. I swear i OD'd. All i could see was a patterned visual of two people fucking, with vines around them. With my eyes open- or my eyes closed, it's all i could see. I remember being able to feel myself having sex - though i was aware i wasn't. I wonder if it really feels as satisfying as i imagined....

Some people say paranoia others say challenge.

If you have a certain number of trips under your belt, certainly within limited time, it tends to get less interesting and magical. One way some that are fond of derealization solve this is by negating the Set & Setting rule - that is: upping the dosage or throwing yourself in uncontrollable environments.

While both are pretty irresponsible, when done right it can still prove interesting - IME it increases anxiety, paranoia and feeling like going out of your mind but also the occurrence of wild experiences. It's more adventurous, more Fear & Loathing.

You have to have a strong mind for this and know what is still manageable and what freaks you out period. I would never advocate this and think more than enough people underestimate such things but I used to like putting myself out there like that!

Plus: if the dosage isnt too high I can do absolutely fine in crowded environments on LSD. On shrooms otoh NOO
