Tripping Music - What are you on, What do you listen to and how does it affect you?

I recently experienced a 3-hit LSD trip during which music had an extremely profound effect on my headspace. I am sure that this is not uncommon. I'd like to see some other people's perspectives on this since I imagine tastes are very varied.

Here are the songs I listened to whilst peaking. I was lying on my back on the floor of our kitchen extension, seeing insane fractals and vortexes on the ceiling.

I'm A Believer - The Monkees ------------------------------------- : Didn't like this very much - seemed childish, tinny and manufactured.
Baby I'm Yours - Breakbot (Nu Disco) ----------------------------- : This was more like it. Gave me a nice warm feeling inside.
Mind Mischief - Tame Impala (Psychedelic Rock) ------------------- : The beginning of the journey. I'm blasting off to outer space.
Feels Like We Only Go Backwards - Tame Impala (Psychedelic Rock)- : Warm feeling inside, almost like I'm rolling.
Is This Love - Bob Marley (Reggae) ------------------------------- : Playful visuals with red green and yellow! What a cliche but I enjoy it none the less.
Space Oddity - David Bowie (Psychedelic Pop/Rock) --------------- : The epicness begins. I feel like I am riding waves of energy, or that I am some sort of conduit for it.
Let It Loose - The Rolling Stones (Gospel Rock) ------------------- : This song is so beautiful it moves me to tears.
God Only Knows - The Beach Boys (Psychedelic Pop) -------------- : I wonder whats going on at the start. By the end I am completely absorbed by this.
Love Has Gone - Netsky (Liquid Drum 'n' Bass) --------------------- : More energy waves as I see the green and blue penrose tiling patterns on my ceiling.
Give And Take - Netsky (Liquid Drum 'n' Bass) --------------------- : Visuals turn more red and purple. Still stuck on energy waves.
Fake Plastic Trees - Radiohead (Indie Rock) ----------------------- : First verse gets me listening properly and emotionally involved. Second verse heats up. Third verse and I'm in tears (joyful ones)
Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own - U2 (Stadium Rock)---- : This song gets stuck in my head and reminds me that I am very alone in my house. It's beautiful. I have never been so glad to have my dog for company.
Think About That - Egoless (Chillstep) ---------------------------- : This washes over me like balm for the soul.
Penny Lane - The Beatles (Psychedelic Pop/Rock) ----------------- : Sounds like perfection
Strawberry Fields Forever - The Beatles (Psychedelic Pop/Rock) --- : Feels like my heart is pumping with the floor.
Let It Be - The Beatles (Psychedelic Pop/Rock) -------------------- : More tears.
Scriabin Piano Sonata No 5. - Glenn Gould (Classical) -------------- : Orgasmic Ecstasy
Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D Major - Maxim Vengerov(soloist) & Claudio Abaddo(conductor) (Classical) : I appreciate this in an extremely intellectual way.
Magic Flight - The Widdler (Dubstep) ----------------------------- : Gets me bobbing my head but the walls really breathe with the bass and its a touch creepy.
Never Mind - Infected Mushrooms (Psytrance) -------------------- : This cheers me up and makes me feel like a boss.
Hold On I'm Coming - Sam and Dave (Phat Tony Ghetto Funk Remix) : Ditto
Higher and Higher - Jackie Wilson -------------------------------- : Superhappy.
What's in Your Head - Disclosure (Deep House) -------------------: Just makes me fucking horny!
Apologies - Indivision & Livewire (Drum 'n' Bass) ------------------: more energy waves
Guess What (Original Mix) - Detroit Swindle (House) --------------: heart pumping

Please add your own experiences and indicate substance and setting. Cool!

I don't normally listen to different styles of music on my playlist but you have defiantly inspired me too. I normally listen to a mixture of glitch, dubstep, psytrance, d&b ra ra.. but the thought of listening to Radiohead and bands like Kyuss, The Beatles, The Mars Volta... Omg I have to do this...

I tend to like EDM, mainly house and DnB.. also like downtempo. I was really into jambands for a long frickin time and I still absolutely love Phish (and always will).

Recently took a low dose of 2C-C and really enjoyed listening to jazz.. I like Jazz sober, but I really appreciated it then.

Yeah i started with massive dance music odysseys but on my second most recent trip I rediscovered The Beatles and it was life changing. I would highly recommend some good classical music too. I love Jazz but I think much of the more advanced stuff (Coltrane, Coleman, free jazz etc) would be too confusing and disconcerting.

mmmmmmmmm Mars Volta....

try listening to "epic" songs (Led Zeppelin - The Rain Song, David Bowie - Rock 'n' Roll Suicide)
they give you the most incredibly intense feelings

Yeah, I was mainly listening to bebop. Fun stuff, plus 2C-C is so light on someone mentally.

Fair. I could manage Kind of Blue or something like Dexter Gordon but most of my jazz comes from my brother who is a semi-pro saxophonist and is into some slightly more mental shit.
If you've listened to Headhunters then that might be worth a listen? However I'll have to wait for more acid to come along. Its not that easy to get hold of in the UK atm.

I often find dubstep to be too creepy whilst tripping. I prefer it when rolling.

Flight of the bumblebee, in the dark with headphones<3 the guy on youtube who play it on his bass guitar is good too

I recommend everyone in the world to listen to this. An incredibly personal and emotional interperetation of the Atonal Scriabin Piano Sonata. No 5. Although its not the easiest piece to listen to, the climactic moments give me a feeling that defies explanation.

I like to get a big room in my house and blast it from the surround sound and lie on the floor and feel the vibrations in my chest

I end up spending a lot of time listening to IDM/experimental electronic, and some post-rock with heavy electronics (eg Amon Tobin, 2methylbulbe1ol, Hecq, Plaid, Autechre, Aphex Twin, Comaduster, Trifonic). It's. . .um, perfect, and makes the world warp, but sometimes it sounds like the song has already been 'run through' psychedelic cognition, so it can get to be too much.

on mushrooms, I love to listen to ambient like Elve or Sangam, as well as ambient-ish music with a bit more drive like Burial, Mount Kimbie, etc

Anything by Shponlge will absolutely blow your mind while tripping. There music has guided me through many of my psychedelic travels.
I remember a friend showing me the song Sphongle Spores for the first time on my first mushroom, He was like "listen to this! It sounds how mushrooms feel"
and ever since then they have had a special place in my heart. Check out the albums Are You Shponlge and There newer album Museum of Consciousness, you will not be disappointed.

I'd Also say any of tippers music is excellent for tripping, listen to the album broken soul jamboree.

Last time with LSD this Album blowed my mind with beauty :

Ludovico Enaudi - In a Time Lapse

Tears of joy were sliding down my face. Definatley recommend for those who like piano/classical music.

Next time I make sure to get "Yiruma - River Flows In You" into the playlist. Even sober it touches me very deep.
