I read a thread about tripping on a plane, and it reminded me of when I was in juvy for 6 months (I've only been in real jail for 11 days, so juvy is my only comparison to a long stint in jail) and REALLY wished I knew someone that could send me some 2c-I blotted onto a letter. But I didn't know anyone with access to it at the time, so it never happened.
But my question is, what are everyone's opinions on tripping in jail???
I know the first 1-2 weeks it would be a TERRIBLE idea, because the shock of being in jail with nothing but an orange jump-suit mixed with any level of ego loss would probably be too much of a shock when you first got there, and you'd probably want to join a gang and start killing people for them, and end up institutionalized.
But after 1-3 months, once you feel like you were born there and are going to die there, maybe then It would be fun to stare at the wall as it wiggles, and think some deep thoughts and maybe write a book or some lyrics if you're a musical person. And jail is really not "restrictive" once you get used to it. As long as you don't cause trouble you stay in general population, which means you have like 75 people to talk to, and some jails don't even have cells. Just bunks and wall dividers. But since the bathrooms in jails are "gym" style sometimes (with lots of toilets instead of just one in your room), you don't have a locked door or you'd be shitting your pants sometimes. So there is basically "open space" as well as plenty of people to talk to. And you live with them, so you get to know them pretty well.
I just want to know what everyone's opinion of tripping (on ANYthing) while trapped in a small metal/cement box is...
