Tripping at a residents concert?

This thread is for those of you who have heard the residents music. It can be very strange and potentially terrifying... to say the least. They're going to be playing near me on presidents day and i also have access to some blotters which ive heard are pretty good (thats all I've heard and I'm not sure how good that means).

Here's a little review of a show from this tour (all the shows will be identical) with pictures and a video.

The band describes the tour as more of an experiment than a concert, which says a lot coming from the residents... They said it involves a lot of spoken words, story telling revolving around the question: what are ghosts? Their lyrics are always brilliant and fun to scrutinize on lsd, and i love their music sober. But im afraid a show might be too much... Or amazing.

I've done lsd quite a few times (10-13 or something). I've done low and high doses. I've freaked out a bit once on 6 hits of what I thought was fairly weak acid. Turned out it was decent acid. I've never done acid at a show or anything. I've done it and rode cta trains once and loved it though. I'd be taking 2 hits if I go. Thoughts?

Im also considering going on some VERY strong ex. Would this be a better idea? I'd be much less likely to have a bad time, but I dont want to feel stupid though. Acid makes me feel more clear.

I also have the option to go on some very strong mushrooms. I wouldn't take the whole eighth because one of myfriends said he doesnt remember about an hour from his trip on them and knows it wasn't much fun. He said they were the strongest he's ever had. I've done mushrooms only a few times before. I've never freaked out but I don't find it as 'fun' as acid. I'd take a half eighth to 3/f of an eighth. Would that be better?

If you enjoy their music tripping then I don't see why you wouldn't have a good time at a concert. I'd dose a little bit lower than you normally would because of being in a public space can be a little much on high dose psychedelics. If you are going to combine some x in it, i'd just go for a lower end dose of acid to have a nice candy flip. I find they are great for concerts because of the energy and excitement MDMA puts into you.

I wouldn't go with mushrooms as I find they aren't as good for concerts, they seem to be a little bit chaotic for a concert environment unless you can just stay in the back and chill.

Watch the oncert video. It's not really music... Thats why im a bit apprehensive.

How much would a mg or so of atavan (a benzo) help ward off anxiety?

taking psychedelics at a concert is always a bit of a risk as its an uncontrolled environment. In my personal experience its always been fun though, though I've always done it at concerts where the music & crowd was pretty psychedelic-friendly, i.e. Phish, Flaming Lips, MMW, KDTU, Keller Williams, many smaller semi-electronic/electronic groups, etc. It isn't a bad idea to have some benzo's on hand, but more often than not, just knowing you have them is enough of a security blanket to not actually need to take any. From the description you gave, it sounds like this would be a pretty psych friendly show. I'd dose slightly lower than normal a good bit before the show so you're not starting to trip really hard as you're trying to deal with lines, tickets etc, and that way you can always take more as you see fit. Always best to err on the side of caution, cause you can always take more, but you can't really un-take any. All this is based on my experience, so remember, YMMV

Residents are great.

Only you know the answer to this question. Personally, I probably wouldn't do this, but I am a more take-drugs-in-a-secure-environment type of guy, and a Residents show will definitely have weirder vibes than the bands any_major_dude mentioned.
