The first thing I would like to say because I know about your concerns for safety and such, is that I am HIGHLY aware of the dangers of CPM because I have experienced those dangers myself.

However, what sparked my interest is: http://dextroverse.org/wiki/Coricidin_Extraction

Dextroverse is a pretty informed website when it comes to DXM, which is why I did not immediately bash this idea of the extraction.

The extraction DOES make sense. The CPM is water soluble, as the DXM is not, so the CPM is lost with the water and the DXM stays. Simple right? I have searched tirelessly for an answer before I started this thread, so please do not just move it to the extraction thread because I know it will not be answered!

If anybody has tried it, PLEASE tell me if it worked. If you have any thoughts or input that does not involve something along the lines of "That will not work, CPM is dangerous", then please don't respond, I ALREADY KNEW THAT. If that is going to be your reply, then tell me why it wouldn't work.

Wouldn't it be simpler just to get a non-CCC source of DXM, or is that simply impossible where you live? I'll leave this thread as its own thing a lil' while longer before merging it with the DXM extraction thread.

No, it's glycerin.

As for solubility of the HBr in water, it is listed here http://www.inchem.org/documents/pims/pharm/pim179.htm as 1.5g/100mL. Don't ask me how reliable the info is.
 
ADD treatment on topic. tl;dr = No.

Dextromethorphan and Chlorphenamine are both tertiary amines. I expect that these amines will have similar pKa (~9), and will protonate to cations under the same circumstances.

However, in addition, Chlorphenamine has a second, aromatic tertiary amine (similar to pyridine) which can protonate to a pyridinium-like cation. The pKa of this amine will likely be ~5.5. Thus Chlorphenamine will doubly charged at somewhat acidic pH (4 or less), while Dextromethorphan will only be singly charged.

This "might" somewhat increase the solubility of Chlorphenamine relative to Dextromethorphan, but I'd be kinda surprised if the presence of a second cationic moiety significantly increases water solubility of Chlorphenamine much beyond that of Dextromethorphan.

Since the tek you linked to doesn't use acidic conditions, only near-neutral unbuffered water... The Chlorphenamine be charged the same as Dextromethorphan, with only one cation per molecule each, and each will have very similar water solubility and will be nigh unto inseparable.

tl;dr = Just don't do it, especially as written in the link provided.
 
I've tried it before, I think I used too much water and lost too much dxm, because I parachuted a whole box's worth of extract and only plat 1'd.
 
i've done ccc quite a lot. i usually take 5 - 8, but my body can handle a lot. ccc is fun, and crazy, but it can be VERY addictive, and you can OD if your not careful. if you must try them, only take 4 or 5, and only do it every once in awhile. i used to be addicted to them and it was NOT fun. also, don't ever do them multiple days in a row. they penetrate and destroy your liver. i was on them for 3 days straight and i nearly died. honestly, they're fun, but only do them a few times, because it can be very dangours and ruin your life
