Triathlons

ain't that the truth? I was making insane progress, and then spent weeks in recovery :| am close to where i was at my 'breaking point' once again now, best feeling in the world :)

I am an incredibly competitive triathlete so my times for that would be much faster, I would probably get around 1:02 for that distance. but i've raced on team usa on various occasions.
As far as doping goes amongst pros in triathlon, it is generally frowned upon much more in triathlon and it is much less widespread than it is/was in cycling. Cyclists are on teams and especially in the past, the teams would work collectively to dope together to gain an advantage on all of their competition.
In triathlon, individuals from the same nation train together frequently, I've trained with many athletes on Team USA.
However, triathlon is more of an individual sport and although we all love to see fellow americans succeed in races, in the end it is a competition of everyone against eachother.
The point is, there will always be some dopers in triathlon because people will cheat to get ahead, but from my personal experiences with professionals I have found it to be a much cleaner sport than cycling.

as far as you know...
/doping isn't more/less prevalent in team v solo sports. i acknowledge some validity to your 'team mentality' reasoning but the reality is that it's got shit to do w/ "teams" and all to do with things like personal gain (monetary and athletic), 'being the best you can be', etc.
//"more of an individual" sport? this is an aspect i'm unaware of- didn't know of team-triathlon, and my understanding of triathlon in the olympics is obvioulsy lacking (always figured it'd be an individual affair- have never heard of it in any other context)
///if you're going to use words like "cheat", or "clean", i'm going to assume you're probably ignorant to such topics. since this thread is both dead, and originated by me, i'd LUV to hear how you/anyone thinks, say, someone like lance cheated. aside from 'irrelevancies' like "he's the sport's figurehead/pioneer", the truth is that he submitted to his tests, adn passed said tests- so much is not in dispute. the allegations are, what, that he "doped"(whatever the fuck that is) by using chemicals that your guidelines didn't specify, and your tests could not identify?

[edit: sorry, it's just that i heard, this morn, that lance is gonna "admit" to the allegations. this could be a true "fall from grace", if i've ever seen one :\ ....]
