Trazadone combinations

I'm on day 4 of opiate w.d and I've slept maybe 5 hours in the past 3 days, I'm planning on goin to refill a trazadone prscription soon and was wondering if this has worked for anyone or am I just waisting my time. I'm so tired and I need some serious sleep, I'm in bad shape

So far I've been regularly dosing loperamide, valerian, diphenhydramine and acetaminophen, is there any dangers of mixing any of these with trazadone?

I'm not sure about valerian, as I thought that had some serotonergic activity and trazodone is a SART (serotonin antagonist re-uptake inhibitor) and mixing them may require the supervision of a physician.
But, I find my trazodone is the only way I can get a few hours of sleep here and there while in WD. I mean be realistic, don't expect to pass out for 10-12 hours like a usual hefty dose, but it may get you that 3-4 hours you need to get by. I'd say go for the refill and ask your pharmacist about the valerian--you can run the others by them but I assure you they will approve; they may just warn not to take too much diphenhydramine.

Good luck, pal!

You may have withdrawal-like symptoms after taking the trazadone itself, so if your opiate WD's are that bad, you can go for it. However I would just find more ideal drugs myself. It's really your call.

Stuff like this kind of drug can vary in effects from person to person.

If you go for this drug I would just use it to help get to sleep, I'm not sure how "efficient" it would be for day-time anxiety.

In my experience trazadone definitely helps. When I was going through withdrawal the trazadone was the only thing help me sleep. I slept good every night I took it. Had some fucked up crazy dreams, but it works though.

Trazadone is really hit or miss for a lot of people, it metabolizes into mCPP, which is something that a lot of people can't handle due to side effects.

just my $.02.

When I started on my Suboxone program, I tested positive for opiates on my initial visit. As we all know, I needed to wait until I was more into the throws of WD before I dosed my subs. This being the case, the Dr. advised me to wait 24 more hours until I took my first dose and wrote me a prescription for clonodine and trazodone to hold me over for that time until I could dose. So yes, at least for me, Trazodone knocked me out and allowed me to get some sleep but I was only 36 hours into WD's.

Also, I would recommend only taking it right before you're planning on trying to sleep. I took it during the day, thinking it would help to calm my nerves, and it just made me feel all fucked up (not in a good way) and made my nausea and anxiety worse; but when I took it and layed down and closed my eyes I was out in 45 mins.

and yes, I would ask your Dr about the traz/valerian possible interaction...solid advice that was

Best of luck to ya, mate! You'll be in my thoughts as that is just no fun for anyone...
