Travacalm?

HELLO!

Has anyone seen that a pharmaceutical company has had its products removed from shelves, one of the reasons being that its product Travacalm "caused people to want to jump off planes and ships because of the hallucinations".

Yes, it would be funny if it was not true 8( .

Out of interest, what is in the Travacalm that could cause this?

This is Aussie specific, but looks like having huge ramifications, with hundreds of products potentially being recalled. Seems the pharmaceutical company was involved in some dodgy practices.

I found this from a suppliers website.

Travacalm Original
(Contains dimenhydrinate 50 mg, hyoscine hydrobromide 0.2 mg and caffeine 20mg)

Travacalm Original is a unique product to treat travel sickness because it contains a combination of dimenhydrinate, hyoscine hydrobromide and caffeine. Dimenhydrinate is an antihistamine that has an anti-vomiting effect. Hyoscine hydrobromide is an anticholinergic drug. Anticholinergics have a wide variety of actions and are well known for their use in the prevention of travel sickness. Dimenhydrinate is longer acting than hyoscine hydrobromide. Both of these ingredients may cause drowsiness. The addition of caffeine helps to counteract the drowsiness.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration website states:

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has today issued an urgent warning to the public not to take some batches of the anti-travel sickness preparation, Travacalm Original Tablets, after analysis by the TGA of tablets has shown that some contain an ingredient in doses much higher than should be there.

it'll make you delirious and i recommend against using dimenhydrinate for hallucinations
 
Maybe someone can recommend me the right dose so that i get some visuals without being overly delirious?
 
^^^^Be VERY careful, hyoscine is scoplolamine effectively. I would suggest upping the recommended dose by one- you can experiment further at another time- just PLAY IT REAALY SAFE.

That said, delerium states are not fun at all- you won't get visuaals just confusion at a low dose, and possible sedation. I would not advise you do this.
 
Well ^ i'm just crazy i guess. I downed 3 boxes of travacalm as my first try. Was very fun indead. I was haveing in depth conversations with myself and answering. This is not at all like schizophrenia. The voices and visuals where not that real. They speak via the inside voice, so you know it aint real. I wouldn't sugest anyone do this under any circumstances. As i said, i'm just crazy. Oh i downed a bottle of tussin with it and 800mg codeine as well as 200mg ibiprofen. 1 advil
So my mix consisted of the following.
Cannabis....as often as possible. About 3g's all up.
Cafiene (travacalm) 600mg Just 3 cups of coffee for me.
Hyoscine hydrobromide (travacalm) 6mg
dimenhydrinate (travacalm) 1.5g
codeine (cwe) 1g so about 700 - 800mg.
dxm (tussin dry cough) 600mg 1 bottle
200mg ibiprofen. 1 advil
Oh even at this dose the visuals where very poor. Just ufo's everywhere in the sky once it hit morning and wierd dragon like creatures flying around me everywhere, about the size of dragon flys...hehe. I felt off the next day and was still tripping 12hours after dosing. All in all i'll do this again, but with more dxm.
I weigh 55kg btw and i'm all good now with no bad effects or damage that i can notice.
Again, don't do this. But if you wanted to try it but couldn't find a report like i did, you can use this little report as a guide. I couldn't find any reports even close to what i wanted to do, so i just did it as usual. Well again this is crazy and maybe just stupid, but i enjoyed it. Maybe i'll start a thread for huge doses of random drugs and see who else is crazy. :) Well any questions please fire away, Peace.
 
Shit i just read the first post...LMAO. The travacalm i bought was on special. $6 a box of 10.
Maybe i got a bigger dose then thought..... but i'm not that lucky. Still, i'm gonna grab the rest of the stock today.
Next report will be above the last dose. More dxm and more weed. Wish me luck. Maybe i can shake gods hand this time ;)
 
I have taken 10 tabs of travacalm (500mg dimenhydrinate, 2mg hyoscine hydrobromide, 200mg caffeine) and i feel euphoria at first then gradually got delirious. I felt that someone is talking to me when it fully kicked in, there is no-one there and even though i can tell it's not real i feel a real obligation to answers this voice. I got drowsy despite the caffeine. I dont think its a great drug but if you have nothing else.. it may help you pass time (if you need to ?).
ps: i didnt get a racing heart like when taking diphenhydramine
