So my psych said that he would consider Tranxene in place of Xanax if there were highs and lows with my anxiety. I know Tranxene isn't the most popular, but how does it compare to other benzos i.e. Xanax and Klonopin? He told me I'd take it once daily, but wtf is that? I'd love to hear opinions on the drug.

Tranxene is dipotassium clorazapate.

Clorazapate itself is inactive but it will metabolize into desmethyldiazepam, which also the main metabolite of diazepam and chlordiazepoxide (Librium).

It's got a very long half life and is equipotent to diazepam.

15mg clorazapate will metabolize into 10mg desmethyldiazepam.

Tranxene is usually not considered to be very recreational, unlike xanax, valium and klonopin.
