Could it be you haven't fallen behind
but leap-frogged ahead and that instead
of being lost in your own shadows and shit
you were just struck so hard with
what you saw over the hill?

Screaming for them to stop.
Pleading for a new direction.
Angered by the deaf ears
and whatever it is that's
infected the human race.

They followed the tortoise
as we followed the hare on down
that surreal hole, went
down and in and up and out
the Other Way.
The place forever
changed us and some of us
just lost control.

And hey, why don't you eat me?
Hey, why don't you drink me?
This one makes you smaller,
this one makes you whole again.
And hey, why not just taste me?
Hey, why not take a sip of this?

We all need change and coagulation.
We all need a formula for synthesis.
You're breaking up, you're loosing touch,
so I beam this twisted transmission
to your brain.

You wanted so much just to wake up.
I heard you call out to me in that
vibrant, unearthly plane, but

No one but you saves.
No one but you saves.

It's your illusion that's been wasting away,
your morbid addiction to
this rot, this decay.
Something's got to give here.
Time to burn the mask,
bear the pain, rearrange,
break away.

And if you choose to stay,
you'll be forced to change
anyway.

i like the random 'directions' this poem seems to drift in, while still having a strong core idea - very cool :)
