Transition: Student -> Unemployed -> Career

I'm stuck on Step 2, and my degree is a BS in computer science, but of what a joke that education and curriculum was. It simply cant keep up with the fast-paced dynamic field that is CS. So anyway, here I am, jobless, applying to "entry level" positions that are still way out of my league.

My friend with a computer science degree got a good job by working for a temp company long enough. He qualified for data-entry jobs because he could type. Try a temp agency maybe?

Do volunteer work. I guess a lot institutions would ne happy for help in your field. So you can get some experience and make contacts. Also it looks good in the cv.
