I never really knew you
And I never really thought of your mortality
Until the warm September day when you left us
Drowning us in tears,
And as the hours turned to minutes
I pondered what would have been;
What if I had known you?
How would my life be different now?
Only stories of you have graced my ears from time to time
And all I can do is remember
Never able to go back
Never to see you in your days of beauty,
In your days of happiness,
Nor in childhood.
And as I look into the night sky
I retrace the steps of your life as if we forgot
To uncover your face
To uncover your soul
To find the real you under the lies
And as I untie the knot of your story
There is one thing that I can do nothing about;
Your eyes will never see another rise of the morning sun
Nor the beauty of the rose after a summer rain
But away from this world, you are in a better place
Peace be with you my friend
I miss you..............

This is your best writing my friend. I feel your the pain and love wash over me as I read this. Very, very nice.

This an emotionally draining piece...who do you speak of? If you don't mind me asking...

btw: you have something of mine. :p
