Social Justice Transgender and gender identity discussion

I think the focus on athletics is entirely misplaced and unnecessary; both with regard to trans people and also performance drugs. For some reason I have simply never fathomed, we seem to assign some sort of unique and misplaced nobility to “athletes” that we don’t expect out of other entertainers. And yes, that’s all that they really are: entertainers. Their job is not to put the ball or puck in the end zone, goal, or basket; nor is it to ride their bike fastest across France or to swim a better butterfly. Their job is to put butts in the stadiums and eyeballs on the televisions, period. And it’s not like we drug test and take away Lady Gaga’s Grammy for testing positive for pot (which she has said helps her creativity), or take away Elliott Page’s Oscar for testing for the “wrong” hormones, nor do we suspend Keith Richards from the next half-dozen Rolling Stones concerts for testing positive for Keith Richards.

So far as I’m concerned; the same goes for trans and drug-using athletes. If a trans woman plays a better game of soccer or if a trans man does a better gymnastics routine due to their pre-trans development or hormone levels or if Lance Armstrong juices to ride faster or if a special suit helps Michael Phelps swim faster. It’s all the same and all A-OK to me. It’s all just show business. And if any of them put on a better show, all is fair and more power to them. And the only other people who have a legitimate say would be their doctors.

I suppose my perspective is different because lifting is my life, and I would love for anyone who wants to to be able to take it seriously, and that's not really possible for most trans people. I don't see sports as entertainment, but that's because I actually partake, unlike your average couch potato NFL fan, I see them as a way of life. To me, developing the knowledge, discipline, confidence, and inner strength it takes to manifest your full potential is a noble, individualistic pursuit. Once upon a time I had back problems so severe I couldn't roll over in bed... 5 years later I deadlifted over 500lbs. It's not for entertainment, at least for me. Like, if all you had ever seen was porn, and never had a sexual relationship, you'd see sex as entertainment, instead of a way to connect intimately, mature, create a life, etc.

I dont see atheletes as nobility, quite the opposite, most of the famous ones are terrible people. But I see physical fitness as a basic human need that the vast majority of the earth neglects, and it makes me sad.

I know just as many straight cross dressing cis men as I do gay/trans persons.

If any of you "privilege"-deniers want something legitimate to cry about, you could start here...

The LGBTQ+ ideology will never become mainstream, doesn't matter how hard they try to ram it down peoples' throats (no pun intended).

Because of the media and people getting stuck in echo chambers, it makes them think that these ideas are much more widespread and popular than in reality.

If they stuck to demanding equal rights and gay marriage for eg, then it wouldn't have become such a contentious issue, but because they're seemingly trying to indoctrinate children into a different lifestyle (lying about scientific facts in the process), that is angering many people and turning them off.

So to answer your question - overall, no never.

Scary part is, it already is becoming socially acceptable. Definitely not the norm, but many of these tikTok kids and the idiotic fan base behind them are dressing like that and endorsing this weird Crop-top/booty shorts wave too.

On YouTube, I commented on a video saying “that’s gay asf, and it’s a gay way to dress,” (I’m paraphrasing a bit but you get the point...) Right then, I almost immediately got lit by all these people calling me a “racist, homophobic, insensitive bigot with no style of clothes who is just uncomfortable with his own masculinity.” “Clothes don’t have gender” “using gay is an offensive word” “that his style, and it looks good” It looks GOOD?!?! WTF! I’ll be DAMNED if my son ever tries to dress like THIS, BOY!

IF HE EVER EVEN TRIES to take any part of this whole “straight-metro,” “cancel-culture,” or “politically-correct” narrative, he will get SPANKED, PUNISHED AND GROUNDED! In other words, he getting his ass beat! No questions asked! (I just want to make sure that this is very CLEAR, if my son was to ever happen to come out as gay, or if he was OVER the age of 18 decided he wanted to dress and be-CALLED a woman, I would 100% accept him and respect his identity to that, it literally wouldn’t even cross my mind, the transgender thing would definitely be much tougher pill to swallow, just being HONEST... but there still wouldn’t even be a thought process behind it...just don’t want my male son to be, dressing like a goddamn female).

With that being said.....man I grew up in an era we used words like gay, retard, cripple, fag, burnt, raw, like all types of shit and it never crossed our mind that some was intentionally trying to be offensives. You can usually when someone is trying to be be an asshole!!!!!! Another example, would be when George Carlin joking about rape, that bit was fucking hilarious,IM SORRY it fucking is! 😂😂

Sorry got carried away, I didn’t mean to make this so long, holy shit I went off into another world with that one i gotta chill lol. Coming up to Hour 80 or so of being awake now. 😅 you don’t even understand how long and hard that was for me to type 😅

You are doing great. Champion effort after 80 hours. Don’t forget paragraph breaks when writing a tweaked out manifesto. Makes it easier for us other amped up fiends to read and understand. My eyesight going a bit wobbly now too.

Define "well known"

I dont think you know celebrities. Most of them probably wouldn't take much forcing.

P.s. anyone know why RuPauls drag race is impossible to stream? Cant find it anywhere

The pronoun thing is a grammatical nightmare.

From an article I just read, "His comment was questioned by actor Elliot Page, who has recently confirmed they had transitioned."

It should have said they have transitioned I guess, but it still sounds wrong. It reads like it's a reference to multiple people.

I don't understand the they thing.

Elliot page said his (does he want us to say this? or should it be their) pronouns are he/they.

Why they, if he is a he?

Where does they fit into this table:
HE/SHEHIM/HERHIS/HERHIS/HERSHIMSELF/HERSELF
ziezimzirziszieself
siesiehirhirshirself
eyemeireirseirself
vevervisversverself
teytertemtersterself
eemeireirsemself

Who comes up with these?
Are there going to be more?

I don't mean any offense but I think it's a bit much.

It seems like Elliot wants to use a mix of pronouns from different sets.

Can you realistically expect people to use sie / em / ters / zieself for one person and e / ter / vers / eirself for another person?

It's hard enough for me to remember people's names sometimes, let alone their pronouns.

I'll clarify. I believe in differences between the sexes, but I don't believe in the separation of gender and sex. All cultures have different clothing/behaviors that were developed over time. Make-up on men and women seems odd to me. I don't understand why people paint their faces. Same with gender-specific clothes. Scotsmen wear kilts, for example.

There are differences in behavior dictated by hormones, but that is sex not gender. When trans people act like another gender, it's specific to culture. Trans women don't act like women. They act like modern women from whatever culture they exist in. Go back two generations and women didn't act at all like women do today.

As for the bisexual thing, yes I'm serious. There have been numerous scientific studies that indicate people are subconsciously aroused by same-sex pornography. There have also been numerous times throughout history in which homosexual acts were commonplace. Take Ancient Greece for example. Guys didn't have to worry about the stigma of being gay or being ostracized by their fellow man, so they just went with it.

From personal experience, give anyone the right (or wrong) combination of drugs they will break down those barriers faster than you can say dick sausage... which seems to indicate to me - again - that there is a repressed desire there.

Guys are quite happy to watch porn. Some popular heterosexual porn categories are pretty penis oriented. Guys cumming on women's faces. Guys getting blowjobs. Gang bangs with one girl and lots of guys. Glory hole stuff. Handjob porn. It seems odd to me that these are popular categories since none of them feature female genitalia. I've mentioned this to adamantly straight guys before and they say, "I like to imagine that it's me" getting the handjob / blowjob / whatever... but at the end of the day they're watching a video of a penis while masturbating. Not to mention the obsession with BBC videos.

I've also encountered a lot of guys who don't think it's gay to have sex with trans women who haven't had the downstairs surgery, which to me is a great example of cognitive dissonance. They are fucking what is essentially a man, but they can tell themselves otherwise because of the tits / hair / make-up.

Numerous studies of pornographic viewing habits (yet again) show that men who identify as straight secretly watch gay porn. The popular statistic from these studies is that straight men watch gay porn "25% of the time", although I'm not convinced of that. Some straight guys are so repressed they will go through their entire lives without ever glimpsing gay porn. If they see a split-second of it, they will be repulsed... not because they actually are repulsed, but because they are afraid of not being repulsed.

I've known a lot of guys that massively overplay how gross it is to see another man's penis. This (to me) is odd. Are they afraid of seeing their own penis? What is so upsetting about seeing a dick when most guys are happy to watch a video of a dick as long as a woman's hand or mouth is in frame. It doesn't make sense.

Some countries are less oppressed than others. Black guys tend to be less discriminative when it comes to same-sex stuff. Obviously there are many black guys who are super anti-gay. It's just an observation. Also, Europeans tend to be more open minded when it comes to sex. Repression is cultural, I think.

As for gay guys, a lot of gay guys have sex with women for years before switching sides so to speak. I have a family member who insists he is gay and he has four kids. So, clearly there is some attraction there.

Beyond the psychology of it all, men are aroused on a deep animal level by: the female anatomy, by the smell of a vagina, and by pheromones... but more than that, men are (deep down) horny little monkeys. If you can get past all the shame and confusion that the church forced into your head, a blowjob is a blowjob. There is very little difference between a man sucking your dick and a woman sucking your dick.

I think that's enough clarification.

Now, quick, go and watch some lesbian porn and forget about everything I just said.

I think saying everyone is somewhere on a spectrum is a more accurate way of expressing the diversity of human sexual interests than making it binary.

Sure, there are different degrees of repression.

Dude. My friend. My buddy. I don't even know how to respond and on so many levels it's not even funny.

But better I bow out. I seem to remember one of the mods. (one of the nicer ones that is) once telling me "know your audience" (before losing your shit). Good advice and advice that I took to heart at the time and have tried to heed when occasion called for the same. And this is one of those occasions! :ROFLMAO:

@dalpat077

To each their own. My father is so repressed, he would never even think about experimenting with drugs let alone same-sex stuff. Everybody has their limits. Some people do what their told in the bedroom. Others obey the law. At the end of the day, we only have one life. I've done every drug under the sun, more or less... and I've explored sex too. It's entirely possible I'm just an addict and a pervert, but - hey - I don't care what people think. I'm perfectly secure with who I am. At the end of the day, I've had some incredible experiences. If you'd like to say something, you don't need to hold back for fear of offending me. I can take it. It's not going to have the slightest impact at all.
