Social Justice Transgender and gender identity discussion

Japan declares LGBT "goes against preservation of our species"... I know they have low birth rates but they are one of the most densely populated countries in a world that will face overpopulation crisis in a few decades..... That's cute

“A single obscure Japanese lawmaker shoots his mouth off unofficially” - Japan generally pretty tolerant of sexual weirdness.

Kind of awesome: A new rainbow Lego set will arrive just in time for Pride Month

Is this a good thing?

I think it is a good thing of very low valence. It is also pandering but that doesn't make it wrong.

I feel that pride signs in people's front yard are kind of pandering, but at the same time they do make me feel more comfortable and safer when I am dressed femme and walking in those neighborhoods. The Lego set just gives the same message "queer acceptance is becoming mainstream enough to be profitable". That message makes me very mildly happy.

Comparing Arians to skinheads is kind of like comparing Arsenic to Roundup - respectively of course. They're both poisonous. It depends on how you apply them.

Thanks for spraying.

You have a lot of friends, Priest. Do they always confirm your opinions of everything?
🤣😎Of course not. I do not hate trans people but if they are basically professional activists, or are super radical I just avoid them or if we are friends limit contact/communication.

I am not super into the whole gay or original LGB pride events, going to the marches-I was more interested in going to bars and dance clubs with other bisexual men I was boyfriends with at the time, dancing, and getting drunk, or basically I would go to local LGB/LGBT pride events and I do not travel to LGB/LGBT pride events in other countries or far away cities like my bisexual friend does.

I do not like how these events are now super corporate, super tame-yes I know LGBT people bring their young children to such events but I think children/teens should be banned and I want to see twinks stripping, leathersex fetishists, men and women into the sex kinks of pretending to be a human dog or horse, etc. If you want a family friendly event for LGBT pride for people to bring their children to people who are LGBT and who have children can make an event like this where there are no pornstars, stripping twinks, etc.

I also do not like how super mainstream being LGB/LGBT is in films, TV, books, etc. to where it is just pandering for $€£ from LGB/LGBT people, 'allies', etc. Or how everyone and their mum wants to join the LGBTXYZ collective.

^^ Yeah, there seems to be a bit of conflict in between older generations and now where there are younger kids and its a family picnic kinda thing. The BLM thing with brown/white and black in the lego set is new and would have been frowned on in the past let me tell you wow! I didn't mean to offend anyone by what I said its just how things were back then. And there was a lot of ownership of slurs and things, and in all honesty I was more of a tourist and a casual, if at all. I suppose I was close to the subculture as anyone for our area. But yeah my views are probably very very tame in comparison to some people who were legitimately within those subcultures. And certainly the language used would have made sailors blush.

I think it's healthy that it's not all about extremity and sexual fetishism anymore. The fact that it is normalized enough to bring children to such an event is a good thing. Maybe a less fun event, but that pales in comparison to the people who the event is for experiencing a much greater level of societal acceptance.

LGB has dominated the conversation for far too long. Look at how impossible it is for us to not talk about sexuality while completely ignoring the topic at hand?

I don't see how sex can be removed from the discussion if you're a man with breast implants that likes to put on a dress and get the old rusty trombone.
