Heya guys, first time posting.
Wanting a little information about this Indian made drug called Tranax-1 made by Cipla.
I tried the drug and said:
"They definately dont have the taste, they taste, & melt in your mouth just like valium.
Thay aren't valium though, they are something else, similar strength to xanax, but not as strong."
Also a person told me something about Pyrazolopyrimidines, but i have no idea what those are.
I looked around on the internet and found another piece of feedback relating the experience to Xanax:
"I am taking the Tranax in the same dosage as the Zanax, 2 mg per day. Since taking it only 5 days, I find that it isn't as powerful as Zanax. I can feel Zanax "kick-in" after about 20 minutes. The Tranax I never feel the kick-in, but I "know" it is working.

Tranax also seams to carry longer. It doesn't seam to kick-in fast but it doesn't appear to kick-out fast either."

I just want to find out what is in this drug can anyone help out?

Tranax is a brand name for alprazolam, the same active ingredient that is in Xanax.

Many people find that there is something of a "placebo effect" where, upon switching formulations of benzodiazepines, the new drug is never as effective. Personally I think it's all in your head - pharmaceuticals are well regulated.

i disagree for 2 reasons..however, i have seen the placebo effect in action several times..

#1- it's slightly difficult to mistake the taste of alprazolam.
#2- i had the same experience.

@ op..honestly my guess would've been etiz..but i threw them out..
knowing they weren't what they were supposed to be..was enough for me..
i'm not trying to guess what i'm ingesting..
ppl will tell you..well..they sat in a warehouse in the heat.
and lost effectiveness..
probably..india's hot from what i've heard
but they don't lose that bitterness.
i took xanax that i'd packed away years prior.. and had been sitting in storage in an uncooled garage
in the southern heat & humidity..and the taste was horrible (or lovely imo;)).
there are great indian generics..tranax isn't one of them (also imo).

be smart..
if you don't know what it is..:|

Tranax is alprazolam, albeit of questionable quality, I've never tried it as there's nothing wrong with my FDA approved alprazolam RX, no need to fix what ain't broke. There's a lot of information on alprazolam, do your homework. A simple Google search answered your question for me.

I agree with sekio in that this was a placebo effect. I'm closing this as we don't really allow brand discussion here in Other Drugs. Alprazolam is the same chemical at work, regardless of subjective reports of differences between brands. I would be very careful about ordering drugs online, you don't even know for sure that what you're getting is alprazolam unless you send a sample for gas chromatography / multiple spectrum analysis.
