First time I took tramadol. I took 75mg and felt almost nothing. But then when I went to sleep 1:20 hours after taking it and I had kind of a nod. Where I was semi-conscious and it was kind of like an out-of-body experience. I was imagining walking through my room and closing my window & doing shit, although I knew I wasn't doing those things. It was cold in the room so I wanted to close the window, but I was way too comfortable to move. And just imagining getting up from the bed and going to close the window, I could visualize everything perfectly. Very very vivid. Then I had this very vivid dream of a table with lots of objects on it, and I shook the table, and there was zero gravity. every little object started floating and hitting eachother and bouncing all over the place in slow-motion, like a cool physics computer-animated program.

Then when I woke up, I felt kind of sped up. Not like anything I ever took before. Didn't feel like caffeine, nor like speed. I then took a little more tramadol over the course of the day, and I got a bit woozy. Overall comfortable, but at some points I felt like I was losing it... Similar to some degree like the light-headedness that you get from codeine (without tollerance) but not as good.... It just felt very very very weird.

I then flushed the remaining pills down the toilet. Was this even tramadol I took? The pills were sealed in a foil, with the pharmacy's name written on it and everything seemed legit. They were well-pressed pills. But they were given to me by a junkie.

Is this what tramadol does?

Overall it seemed like a VERY VERY weird little drug to me, at some times seemed very weak, but it felt that I could lose it at any moment... Scary shit.

Ain't taking that crap ever again.

Yes, that's what tramadol does. It has SNRI and opioid effects in one drug. A lot of people have bad reactions to tramadol, you're not the only one.

I took probably 200mg over 12 hours. But even a 50mg pill had me feeling some opioid and speedy effects 1 hour after ingestion. I was moving really fast at work, while at the same time being lightheaded. It's like taking speed+heroin (obviously a very bad comparison, but you get the idea) It had speedy effects (probably from the NRI) and opioid effects because it is an opioid.

The vivid dream & weird out-of-body experience was probably from it's serotonin activity. So I experienced all 3 of it's neurotransmitting effects in 3 different situations but from the same dose.

If you are not very tolerant to opoids/opiates experiencing those very vivid mind movies (hypnagogic imagery) when nodding is very usual and has nothing to do with tramadols serotonergic properties.
Sadly i get these awesome nods very rarely since i use opis very frequently.

Well that thing scared the shit out of me. But yeah, now I see the similarity between the tramadol and the codeine - the hypnagogic imagery thing. Pretty cool. Wish I didn't flush it down the toilet. Or maybe not? I can get more I guess. But I'm trying to quit drugs for a while.

I get these nods when on codeine, but only when I take codeine without caffeine. But codeine without caffeine pills are very expensive here, and I usually just take it with the caffeine. A smaller dose for a mood lift, not enough for a nod.

i actually like tramadol. i used to think it was shit but last night i took 200mg and got a decent high.

Tramadol is a tricky drug for sure. Some claim to get high of it but many don't get any positive effects from it. It is unlikely if you have an tolerance to "real" opiates that Tramadol will do anything for you besides maybe dull some mild to moderate pain. Also taking over 400mg a day increases your seizure threshold.

Personally I think it is crap. I wish I were one of those who actually get something from it but unfortunately I am not. I get better results from 10 grams of kratom then I do from 200mg of Tramadol. So those of you who actually get high off this be thankful. Also watch out for addiction because I heard the withdraws are a bitch!

Tramadol Isn't a drug for everyone for sure. I can't take that shit even though It is in the opiate family it makes me have fucking panic attacks and my heart beats out of my chest for 6 hours straight. Other people I know take it and love it. It's just not a good opiate to get high on in my opinion. Try Oxycodone or hydrocodone. Way better and you wont be seeing shit. The good thing to do was flush them shitty ass pills down the drain they are worthless for pain relief (atleast for me) and for getting high.

I agree flushing them was the way to go. I was rx'd 200mg CR before I ever took anything else and had the most amazing high for 36 hours, on the second night I started getting tardive dyskinesia and it was downhill from there. It's a dirty dirty drug. So many side effects and the risk of long term damage from abuse is pretty high considering it's not a potent drug. My dr friends think it's amazing it's still out there.

I was wondering how damaging tramadol is long term, maybe I am being a poor googler, but cant find many studies and most are just discussions of problems with withdrawals.

Tramadol taken on its own for some is either enjoyable, or unenjoyable, or neutral. I fell into the borderline enjoyable and kinda neutral pile until trying the combination of tramadol and (soma) carisoprodol. Then found it became a proper little opiate.

Though previously mentioned,I feel It must be mentioned again...TOO MUCH TRAM CAN CAUSE SEIZURES...Be careful...Although I've never experienced that imagery effect while on Tramadol, the ingredients seem fitting to cause such feelings.Don't trust anything from a junkie, unless you have looked up,and confirmed the markings.Stay safe peeps;)

tramadol is definitely a weird drug, remember in the mid-90s drs were handing the stuff out like candy cause they'd bought hook, line and sinker into the sales pitch it was a non-narcotic painkiller, then the reports of bad experiences began pouring in...Hate tramadol cause of the SNRI effects, which is a shame cause for me at least it is actually a decent painkiller and do get buzzed even from low doses (and have a relatively high opiate tolerance, trams really hit me hard for some reason). It's just such a dirty buzz though that avoid the stuff, don't trust it
