tramadol while on SSRI

I already used the search bar and i got no concrete answers. I was prescribed 20mg paxil yesterday. I took one at about 4:00pm yesterday. a full 24 hours has passed since i took one. I have a 50mg tramadol i want to take. However i've read about serotonin syndrome and people have seizures. i have also read a post where someone said her husband takes both paxil and tramadol regularly and has no problems. I plan on not taking my paxil today since i want to take the tramadol. Is this safe? I know 50mg is a small dose but its all i have right now and i cant get any percocet until thursday. Would it be safe for me to take it??

Yeah, if you don't take your AD that day you should be fine. I was actually prescribed tram + citalopram (ssri) 20mg at the same time at some point for a short time and nothing bad happened (I stopped citalopram and stayed on tramadol then lol)
doc didn't know about its interaction I guess, and when I told him he said it was an exaggeration.. I dunno though. Anyways, I'd leave 24hours before and 24 hours after taking it. I'm not sure if 50mg will be enough to feel something, and it's not a drug that works for everyone.

Agreed, the interaction is definetely exaggerated. I was prescribed tramadol (up to 300mg a day) with 20mg of citalopram daily and found no adverse reactions what-so-ever.
