I've been taking 90 mg of oxycodone per day for the last 6 months or so, but I ran out the day before yesterday. I had an old prescription for Tramadol and when I started getting the withdrawal symptoms last night I took about 400 mgs of Tramadol. It totally stopped the withdrawal sympotoms and I still feel pretty good today - I have some muscle soreness/tightness, but otherwise I'm not half as bad as I would notmally be 48 hours after running out. I thought Tramadol and oxycodone were significantly different, so I'm very surprised by this. Anyone know why this is happening?

try 100mg of tramadol at a time, 400mg is about a full days dose and 100 to 150 mg at once is enough to get rid of the withdrawal symptoms.

OF course for the first two days after running out of the oxy, even with tram you'll feel like shit but you won't get the worst of the symptoms.

But my advice from experience is 100 to 150 of tramadol as you probably want the tramadol to last you longer to get to your next RX of oxy.

DXM helps with aches and pains and may help you sleep. Just be sure that the preparation you get doesn't have anything additional that would raise your blood pressure.
