Tramadol questions

I have recently been prescribed 50mg tramadol for severe back pain as well as arthritis. I currently take anywhere from 2-4 at a time depending on my current pain. I am 19 years old and have an extremely difficult time getting doctors to take my pain seriously.

What are the possible side effects of combining with the use of Indomethacin, Gabapentin, and LSD? (Tramadol + one not all at once)

Also what other drugs could be used to help treat the pain as my doctors tend to only prescribe a request because they do not understand the scope of the pain due to my age.

Basic combination questions are better suited for BDD. Gabapentin and indomethacin I believe are fine but I'd double check with an interactions checker like rxlist or drugs.com

I believe LSD effects are reduced by regular use of serotonin reuptake inhibitors but tryptamines are out of my expertise.

For chronic pain issues/questions I recommend the link to our mega thread in my signature.

i get tram 50s and valium (diazepam) i llike to take 10-20 within a couple of hours (PLEASE NOTE I AM NOT SUGGESTING YOU DO THIS THAT WOULD BE YOUR OWN CHOICE!!) sorry a dont wanna get in trouble... a like a beer or two sometimes with it

also if your gonna do it be careful if you feel yourself gouging out take it easy n lie down some where you dont wanna make a tit of yourself or worsw still hurt yourself

Mixing tramadol with gabapentin is ok. You may get more drowsy than usual.
Mixing tramadol with indometacin is also generally safe. There should be no side-effects in mixing these two. Indometacin is an NSAID. Works entirely different than tramadol.

Do not mix tramadol with LSD. For many reasons.

Don't go over 400mg of tramadol in 24 hours. It increases the risk of seizures. It is useful to take tram with an anticonvulsant (like gabapentin) to help prevent the seizures.

I also noticed that at a certain dose, or after it's been in your system on a day to day basis for a while, it can cause difficulty urinating.

Tramadol is a weaker pain reliever, my doctor pairs it with norco for my pain. (norco is 10mg hydrocodone, 325 mg apap). It works well enough in combination. Tramadol is long acting, which I find useful and fills some of the pain relief gaps between norco use. Also since both drugs are not super strong opiates, it allows for wiggle room when you become more tolerant to either or both. When that happens, you can first increase the hydrocodone dose, and then later move up to something stronger. It's preferable to going straight to say oxy and then becoming tolerant to that. Especially if your pain will be with you your entire life. So if you can manage the pain at a lower dose, or weaker pain medication, it is worth starting there.

Thanks a ton for all the help, its greatly appreciated.

I did some prior research before and I am very aware of the seizure threshold. Unfortunately I have a very high tolerance naturally so the 200mg will most likely soon not be enough.

Also can you elaborate on the possible outcome if mixed with LSD.

well tramadol is not an SSRI, it is a serotonin releaser. It if were an SSRI you could combine it with LSD just fine, with some diminished effects. But as a serotonin releaser you put yourself at risk for serotonin syndrome, which includes such nasties as nausea, vomiting, fever, chills, sweats, shaking, and even theoretically death. Some, including Shambles, have had a severe reaction with this combo.LSD is intense enough alone, you dont the real fear of physically fucking yourself up along with it! cheers!

wow thanks for that.

Is there an increased seizure risk when used with muscle relaxers such as carisoprodol?

Some muscle relaxers, yes.

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) should especially be avoided with Ultram (tramadol hcl).

As for your Soma (carisoprodol), there have been reports of seizures with Soma alone. However, they usually occur in settings where multiple drugs were used. And I've seen people on bluelight discourage using tramadol and carisoprodol together

I have a question about Trams. I have read on here that combining them with subs is euphoric and I recently got my hands on 100mg of Tram.
I am on 40mg of Celexa and I know mixing them with SSRI's can be dangerous, but if I miss my dose for anywhere from 2-4 days will the seizure/serotonin syndrome risk be lowered a little bit? Also, would throwing a xanny bar in also lower the risk at all?

Yes. But Celexa (citalopram) has a half-life of 35 hours, so you may want to wait until 4 days to be safest.

Depending on how long you have been treated with Celexa, there is a chance of SSRI discontinuation syndrome (withdrawal). And withdrawal from anti-depressants aren't fun although I've never experienced. Many people compere tramadol withdrawal to those of anti-depressants, and its brutal.

^ I have been on it for about 5 months and have skipped 4 days before with no issues. Thank you for the concern though.
