I discovered tramadol by accident. I am a fairly regular recreational opiate user for the past 2 years...usually oxycodone which I get prescribed for my back problems. My relationship with my doctor was becoming tenuous and I was nervous about going back to him for another prescription. Just by chance my dog had surgery and the vet sent him home with about 20 tramadols. Being the inquisitive drug user that I am, I read up on 'em and discovered what we all know about tramadol...and lucky for me I happen to be a person that feels the effects quite nicely. So, 6 or 7 months later, I'm taking about 400mgs a day and doing just fine. Its not a full on high, but it works for me...elevates my mood just enough, helps me sleep, lowers my anxiety and depression, etc. But here's the rub...my doc is starting to be less and less generous with the prescription and I'm afraid that he's going to cut me off pretty soon...maybe insist that I try an alternative method for dealing with my back pain. So, my question is this: Is there an anti-depressant or anti-anxiety drug that I could go on with a scrip from a psychiatrist that would match the effects of tramadol?
 
I find it to be like a mix between MDMA and an opiate and a stimulant. There really is no other drug like it. It also has antidepressant effects. You could try an antidepressant if you are depressed but it will not mimic the effects of tramadol. You could get scripted an opiate or a stimulant but not from a shrink.
So to answer your question, no not really.

But where I live Tram is not scheduled, which means drs are more ready to give it out. Go in and complain of pain, mine was severe headaches and run through all the meds that you don't want. Eventually they should give you tram. If you have a good relationship with you Dr you can even ask for them to script it to you. That is what I did.
 
Hey glad to hear trams work so well for you(personally they do nothing IMO, but everyone is different). Trams are a very weak analgesic so im surprised your doctor is becoming reluctant to write them for you(or was it oxy, I cant remember?). In any case, if he is planning on cutting you off you may experience withdrawal(or not, depending on how much you take). As far as an anti-depressant that will mimic trams, I doubt you will find anything except another narcotic that will fill that void. I hear Effexor is effective for helping with opiate wd, but I have no personal experience with it. Another big thing I should note is if you have been using large amounts of tramadol and quit cold turkey there is a chance of seizure. This is due to the strange makeup of tramadol but nonetheless you should still be very careful. Talk to your doc and try to be honest. Dont wanna scare you, just trying to give good info. P.S As for looking for a substitute for pain, see if your doc will switch you to something like darvocet(also very weak, but nonetheless better than motrin)

Effexor would be your best bet if your looking for something that is similar to tramadol.
It is the most similar drug to tramadol that is in use.
The only difference is that it doesn't have the opiate qualities like tramadol.
But other than that, they are pretty much identical.

But what about your poor dogs need for opioids?

And I've also been interested in ordering tramadol online... it's so confusing to me. There was like 500 for 20 bucks or something for dogs..

Is it wrong that I stole drugs from a dog, thats only when I tried Tramadol.

You can order the pill Soma. Carisperdol? online and it is super cheap. No doctor visit.
Muscle relaxer. It isnt the opioid pill but it deff. works for back pain real nice.
