Opioids Tramadol question?

The only time I take tramadol is if I take a soma muscle relaxant with it. The mix is great.......tramadol has a speedy feeling & peps me up but adding the soma, it levels off those feelings which I like. I like sedating highs instead of speedy highs like oxy's, maybe thats why I dont like oxycodone.

I shudder at the idea of snorting so much filler material.

^+1!!! My point exactly! Some people seem to be able to get good effects intranasal from only 100mg, but, even then, if one is using the 50mg IR pills, that's still a gooooood amount of shit to be putting up your nose.

The only way I would snort tramadol is if I had those little ER tramadol 100mg beads I used to get. Three of those crushed up, with the shell removed, is equivalent to like 1.5 of the 50mg IR pills.

Well I mean this kid was just saying he snorted a lot of vicodins. That was more my point. Just hate seeing people do that shit. We all in the opiate community give plenty of warnings about doing it but it seems newcomers really don't care at all.

Also, do not combine with SSRIs, or DXM, etc. etc. or your risk serotonin syndrome. Actually, I can't remember where I heard that, but it's a bad combo for sure. And I know of people who've combined an SSRI with lower therapeutic doses of tramadol for months if not years, but eventually they did end up having issues with the two.

Hi, i have read the same thing, i dont doubt there is a risk, i think it may be slight though.

So i wanted to ask you about the people who had issues combining the 2 things. But first I'm afraid i think i need to ramble on a bit to provide a bit of 'background' before i can get to the point and ask the question i would like to ask you...

I am on low dose SSRIs but I have on many occasions combined serotonin releasing substances with them without coming to any noticeable harm (Methylone, MDAI, MDMA, 4FA etc). Initially this was due to ignorance of the risk of serotonin syndrome, although it became obvious immediately that the SSRIs block all the good effects of MDMA and Methylone in particular. Over the last couple of years before i knew about serotonin syndrome I had stopped taking the SSRIs for a couple of days before any planned dosing of serotonin releasers chiefly so as i could get better effects from the recreational drugs. I know SSRIs can take weeks to leave the brain entirely, but I believe that most, or at least a lot of the 'active residues' should be eliminated in a couple of days. By sticking to this method I have been able to take MDAI occasionally with no problems whatsoever.

TBH though i have run into pretty severe problems on a couple of occasions though, but both times were due to taking stupidly large doses of drugs i beileve. I had an extremely bad headache recently by being reckless with my dosing of 4A. Not sure if that was serotonin related but it was unlike any headache I'd ever had before. On one other occassion I'd had another bad reaction by going on a binge involving a stupid mix of substances; I think it was MDPV, MDAI, MXE, and synthetic canniboids. Basically i was fucked. Again not sure if that was serotonin related.

Right I'll get to the pont now, I was recently offered a very good deal on some Tramadol so i snapped them up, totally forgetting about the serotonin thing. You talk of 'knowing people who've combined an SSRI with lower therapeutic doses of tramadol for months if not years, but eventually they ended up having issues with the two'. Please could you provide some more info as to what kind of issues they had ?

I dont plan to take Tramadol for years anyway. Just feeling the need to get nicely high occasionally ATM as I'm missing ODT pretty badly since stocks dried up recently...

They presented something along the lines of serotonin syndrome, upon trying to up their dose of tramadol after being on that and their low dose of an SSRI (srry can't remember which one) for I think like 1.5 years (they were on 100mg tramadol 2x/day).

I used to be on Lexapro, an SSRI, and I couldn't take Tramadol at all. Most of the time I'd be okay, but 1/7 times I dosed I experience some minor symptoms of serotonin syndrome (sometimes I could dose 300mg and be fine, others I'd dose 50, or 200mg and be totally fucked).

I believe erowid.org has some trip report with people who've combined tramadol with ssri, who have had both positive and negative results

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I will definately try to research up on this quite thoroughly before i dive in.

I found out last night that Tramadol is a serotonin reuptake inhibitor rather than a releaser. It seems, on a common sense level, that this should be relatively safe, as the 2 things should be working together in the brain rather than against each other. But i have no idea if thats true. I wish there was an 'authority' on this subject on Bluelight, but it seems that no one here knows very much about it.

Errowid it is then to start with, and then to see where Google takes me.

Hey guys, I have one pill that is tramadol that says "APO" on one side and "37.5 - 32.5" on the other, my mom gave me a few for a bad headache and I've seen it a feel times on here so I wanna know that effects from snorting. I've never really heard of this being snorted nevermind never really hearing about the drug.

I don't know much about it, tried googling didn't really give me any answers, but I guess that's what you guys are for. I don't know much about this drug.

Thank you for the help!

Heh, no doubt others have already said the same..but do NOT EVEN GO THERE. Tramadol and paracetamol are not something you wanna be snorting...seriously dude. Tramadol won't have any effect that way and will just burn your nasal lining... it requires the liver to break down so you will need to ingest it to the get the opiate effects.

I know you wanted someone with academic level knowledge (which isn't me unfortunately) but I just wanted to caution you about mixing Tramadol with other SSRI acting substances (even non-pharma ones). Be very careful. I've been using Tramadol for years and years and have always been very careful not to mix..but the one time I did was with 5-HTP and I had a mild but rather unpleasant serotonin syndrome experience.. quite a bad headache. I think when mixing with actual SSRI drugs it could be even worse and more dangerous..it's just so unpredictable I wouldn't do it. Also bear in mind that mixing such drugs with Tramadol can significantly lower the seizure threshold, something you gotta think about if you're planning to take a higher dose of Tram.
