Tramadol Question

Not sure if this is is in the right section, sorry if it isnt. I just got some Tramadol and am planning to take it tonight, last time i took 300
mg and had a great experience, but my face turned red and felt like it was sunburnt. does anybody know, or have a guess as to why this may have happened? thank you for the help.

I dont but taking 600mg of tramadol is a terrible idea. They say not to exceed 400mg in a 24hr period as it lowers your seizure threshold. If you plan on taking that much again be sure to take an anti-convulsant.

I see. Where you itching your face? I started alittle higher on the opiate ladder so I dont know much about tramadol. Somebody on here should be able to help you out. Just another tid of info, from what I've read on here, it's better to split your tramadol dose into 2 doses as it metabolizes better? IDK, do some research the science on it is somewhere around here.

I dont remember any itching that was out of the ordinary. I've searched the internet and bluelight and found no other reports of this happening. I thought it may have to do with my size, or the fact that tramadol is fully synthetic may have something to do with it? I will try taking it in two doses this time. Thank you for the help, I appreciate it very much.

Also, does anybody know whether or not Tramadol could make skin prone to sunburn?

It could be flushing (like a histamine response, or maybe something to do with the SNRI part... vasodialation in the skin in any case) or an allergic reaction. I don't think I have heard of Tramadol making people photosensitive, usually it's things like retinols that do that. Whether or not a drug is synthetic says nothing about the safety profile.

Is it localized to your face? Does it bother you at all? If it's just a red face then I wouldn't worry, if it itches or burns, or welts start to form, I would discontinue the drug.

It's basically a sunburn on just my face, hurts a little bit, peeling skin. It is a little annoying, but it goes away in a couple days.

I think its either an allergic reaction like sekio mentioned, or the fact that tramadol has SNRI properties like some anti-depressants that can increase sensitivity to the sun, I don't see the whole "tramadol making me get sunburned" theory being that far-fetched.

Or both, you could be allergic and have gotten a sunburn.

Tramadol probably releases histamines even more so than hydro or codeine since it has much worse side effects. Dopey antihistamines like diphenhydramine will help potentiate the high (or at least help you nod) so you should be taking them anyway

Tramadol releases histamines, not anti-hisatmines. You can help the itch/allergic reaction you may get with an antihistamine like Benadryl.

Xanax is not an antihsitamine, it is a benzodiazepine. It will still potentiate your opiate. But be careful and start low if you mix drugs.

Oops, you're right. Guess I shouldn't post when i'm stoned- xanax isn't an anti histamine. I did say that tramadol releases histamines not anti histamines, though.

Sorry for the confusion: Don't take xanax and expect it to have anti histamine effects!
