Tramadol More Potent Than Adderall As a Speed Drug?

Trams have the mild opioid effect, the light MDMA-ish feeling, but it's also a decent reuptake inhibitor of norepinephrine; hence where the seizure complications probably come in.

I know not everyone has the proper enzyme to break tramadol down well, I know people who simply can't feel them, and if you're hard into opiates they might only be useful to ease WDs. But for those of us that get off with them, for me at least, it knocks adderall and even a moderate dose of good coke out the window when it comes to that speedy high and level of focus. Especially at the typical 400 mg dose.

Anyone feel the same way?

No. I've never heard of anyone say Tramadol is speedier and more of a focused high than that of Amphetamines. That's completely unheard of. Have you ever done a high dose of Amphetamines?

Yeah meth smoked.

Some people metabolize tramadol really well, others don't. It's not like most drugs. The opioid side of trams is stronger than norco's for me.

I am one of those who do not metabolize it well, I can take 400mg and feel absolutely nothing, but still, there's no way that Tramadol is more effective at stimulating and focusing a user, regardless of their ability to metabolise it.

Some people find it speedy and euphoric (even to the point of mania), others only get mild opiate effects. Some feel nothing at all.

Then again, the same could be said for stimulants like Adderall. Most people find them energizing while those with ADHD are often relaxed/sedated by them.

I don't get any of the MDMA-esque feeling from tramadol whatsoever, but I'm only taking 50 mg at a time and have burned out my serotonin receptors with 4-FA. I definitely feel SOMETHING from it...my body has a pleasant numb feeling and I'm in a better mood than usual. It's sometimes used off-label for treatment-resistant depression, so I think it can have lots of potential applications.

Tram is just a rapid anti-depressant.

Again, these perceptions are more strictly based on opiate tolerance.

This also appeals to stimulant tolerance.

People more tolerant to stimulants and tramadol are wasting your time unless you are in withdrawal.

Just a little bit of harm reduction here...

I used to be into tramadol, using doses 400mg and more, spread throughout the day. As my tolerance got higher, so did the number of pills I was taking. Then I noticed I wasn't going to the bathroom (BM) like I used to. I thought nothing of it, I'll go when i have to go. A week and a half later, I get the feeling that I have to go, so I sat and it literally took me an hour and I was in a ton of pain. Once I finally passed it, i couldn't believe it (I wish I had a scale for a before and after weigh, lol). Of course, I noticed and freaked out a bit when I saw traces of blood on it and on me. After doing some research, I determined that it would heal itself (it did) but the best thing for constipation is to get ahead of it. Eat whole wheat.... everything- bread, pasta, waffles, powerbars. Take a few spoonfuls of knock off Metamucil (psyillium husk) when you can fit it in. Of course, if you're taking pills throughout the day, this could be hard as you don't want to take any meds 2 hours before or after something like that. But thinking of how much that first one hurt.... I drank that stuff like it was my job. Of course, I still got constipated a little or sometimes if my diet was bad and I forgot to supplement, I'd know I would not want to pass this thing. Fortunately, I discovered Milk of Magnesia which works relatively quickly and is pretty safe (non-addicting.... I know, it's slightly amusing to think your colon could get "addicted" to a laxative when i was around popping pills left and right and didn't worry about addiction).

Moral of the story... we know opiates constipate, some of us more than others and tramadol certainly fits in this category. Don't wait until it's too late and you're faced with passing a stool the size of a small child, get in front of it with whole wheat food, supplements, "stool softener", anything that can help.

And don't forget, when I stopped using them I got to enjoy the reverse effect, but aside from the occasional sprint to the bathroom, it wasn't as bad as the first issue. Also, Loperamide is so easy to take and effective, it's SO helpful.. Fiber supplements are a bit harder to take as you have to time them right, and down that filling liquid, even if you're not hungry. Anyway, just a personal anecdote that carries a little message, but a very important one. Take care of your digestive system :)

Good point, adderall and caffeine both put me to sleep. Coke relaxes me, could probably sleep on it; never tried.

In my past experiences, every time I've dosed tramadol I use about 4-600mg (I have a high seizure threshold so I tend to take more than whats recommended in a 24 hour period.). It gives me a very, very, very SLIGHT minimal opiate buzz but when I take it in high doses I tend to stay up all night and chain smoke about 3 packs of cigarettes lol. I can see where you're coming from with the "speedy" feeling, but as a former Ritalin user, I just suggest insufflating methylphenidate for a nice speedy buzz. Blow is good too, but I don't trust it because you have no idea what it's cut with. You can take one line and keel over like a dog that just ate 3 pounds of chocolate. For harm reductions sake, I wouldn't mess with trams that often. Almost everyone in this community and other communities unanimously agree that it's only good for keeping W/D's at bay so you don't get dope sick.

Well, there's my two cents. Take it with a grain of salt as you may since drugs effect each individual differently; however, just be careful of having a Grand Mal Seizure on those trams. People have had seizures off of less than 300mg's.

Tramadol > speed when it comes to getting me motivated and actually getting things done. On speed I'll start up a million projects but finish none.

I'm probably one of those that get alot out of tramadol. They provide much more pain relief than codeine / buprenorphine and last 24 hours + for me.

This is another sort of thing I have to say "what the fuck?" in response to. I have taken the general maximum dose (because I don't take risks with seizures) per day of tramadol before (about 450mg) and the feelings are so subtle when I can even feel them. If that's MDMA-ish then MDMA must suck ass.

There's no way Tramadol is a speedier drug than speed itself. If you have that response, awesome, but I've never known a single person who has had that response.

Do you generally have a high tolerance for drugs? Gotta step ur CYP3A4 enzyme game up.

I have friends that get nothing out of tramadol as well... just genetics. About 70% get off on tramadol I've found...small sample size.

Wrong. Im with Nerd on this one. Felt it myself. Just not as consistently as with coke.

I just feel a weak mellower high from tramadol never speedy by any means. On adderall at the right dose and mood i could speed to do the other side of the galaxy before i come crashing down pretty hard.

I know this isn't about Tramadol, however, with my limited opiate experience - I found that 120MG's of Codeine was really intense, while 10MG's of Hydro - while it was nod worthy at first, it actually became very stimulating overtime. Due to this, I couldn't sleep on 10MG's of Hydrocodone when I was on it for a little over a month. Again, I rarely ever take opiates so I'm sure that has a hand in it.

Anyways, right as I ran out of the Hydro, I just happened to get (around) 45 30MG codeine tablets (Tylenol #3) I CWE'd 4 of them at once, one night, and then took it (again this was right at the height of my opiate tolerance - due to the hydro I had been taking). I started getting the familiar warm and fuzzy feeling, but it just kept coming! By the time it had peaked, I felt so awesome and so tired that within (literally) 1, maybe 2 minutes after laying my head on my pillow, I was asleep.

That night, I had one of the most vivid and strange dreams I can ever remember having. But I digress...

I actually really like codeine. More so than Hydrocodone, Tramadol, and pretty all of the other lesser opiates. Does anyone else feel the same way as me?

Me! Lol i thought i was the only one who liked codeine more than hydrocodone/vicodin, hydrocodone seems more preferred and prescribed compared to tylenol 3's which i prefer more. I hate all the extra apap they put in hydrocodone except the norco version, i prefer 180mg of codeine over any dose of hydros ANYDAY. The warmth surging euphoric feeling and the pain relief from the codeine to me is superior to oh idk like 25mg hydrocodone (no tolerance). Hydros just make my head feel heavier, but don't provide much of a body high or euphoria for me, if and when the opportunity arises, i don't want hydro's i will rather ask for codeine.
