I have posted this question in past tramadol threads, with no helpful responses.
My goal is basically just to use potentiation in a manner that:
(a) Maximizes the opiate effect from M1 (O-desmethyl-tram)
AND/OR
(b) Minimize all other effects (serotonin, norepinephrine, NMDA, etc)
I would like to achieve preferably both goals, but if I must choose one I would prefer eliminating the other effects (b) -- they just feel icky esp. that twinge in the neck-spine. I've done a little research and the only theory I could come up with is:
Would it make sense to combine alcohol with grapefruit juice 45min before dosing? This way, I would be inducing CYP2D6 (alcohol), as well as inhibiting CYP3A4 (GFJ). Thus encouraging M1, and discouraging SNRI metabolites respectively. That is unless, that grapefruit juice also inhibits CYP2D6 to an extent equal to alcohol's induction.
However, I have my uncertainties about this method. Would GFJ and/or alcohol also interact with other enzymes? How would this effect the high, and what would be the NET outcome of metabolites? Also, I have been slow-dosing the tramadol (as I heard this helps), meaning taking one IR every 40 minutes until I've taken 4 tablets. At what point would I consume the potentiator(s) for best results?
