Hey, first time posting but long long time lurker. Had a couple questions for anyone who has used tramadol.

I had been taking 200 mg tramadol Hcl extended release for 8 days as of friday feb 8/2013. I was feeling hostile, manic and 30 different other ridiculous side effects I have never expierenced from a opiate/opioiod. Im also in the process of valium W/d, but am stable at 10 mg a day (down from 40-80mg a day)

I took my last pill of the godforsaken tramadol friday at 5:00 pm. its is now sunday and i am feeling off. Heres my question.

1. Is 8 days at 200 mg of extended release trams long enough to make you at all dependant physically? will i go through anysort of W/d? or have i not taken it nearly long enough?

2. Anyone else litterly lose their mind on this shit?

Very improbable, perhaps just an opioid hangover which is short lived and consists of mild withdrawal symptoms.

Any serotonergic drugs (eg. SSRIs) have the potential to induce mania and hostility so it's a possibility, but it's most likely the benzodiazepine withdrawal at root. Tramadol is renowned for causing an antidepressant effect generally altering mood for better than for worst. In any case, benzodiazepine withdrawal lowers the seizure threshold which tramadol does too, so it's probably not the best choice of opioid during a benzodiazepine taper.

Here's a thread in the advanced drug discussion regarding tramadol induced hypomania:

Thanks yeah i asked my doc if tramadol was a good idea while i was tapering off benzos (knowing it was a idiotic idea already) he said it was fine.

At this point im so worn down and have litterly no fight left and if they give me something i know is stupid and it kills me so be it. If i am to live from these stupid combos im being told to try what i wont do is be in extreme discomfort and now wont take them.
