Agreed,
It does provide pain relief, specially if taken with paracetamol, but it has zero nice effects or highs, only gives me nausea anyway if I try to take more than the therapeutic dose.
Garbage drug.
There not alotof choices out there for me though, so I've een advised to take an XR tramadol 1st thing in tye morning, and the mirtazapine at a reduced dose in the eve, just before ssleep, should stop the interaction. I spoke to a ddoctor at length about it last night cos i got paranoid.
 
tramadol is a horribly weird and dirty drug. I've taken it for four years straight and tapered off it, sober a year now. It's a nasty synthetic opiate combined with an antidepressant... Really dude nasty habit, don't use it for anything... Especially for coming off of speed, it will make you feel tweaked out just like zoloft.

Dude, I absolutely agree with you.
But I've got no choice at the moment.
I've just had major surgery, a complete abdominal wall reconstruction. Even 4 weeks on, its still extremely painful, my new abs are still stitched internally.
So i really need pain relief, and its the only thing my do will give me because he thinks it has the lowest chance of causing me addiction.
If you know of anything else I could ask him for,illgladly as him because hatethesetablets and they are ariskbecauseof drug interactions.
BTW, I didn't use them to come down from speed, I used valium for that and thenxanax to sleep whichactually workedk but I didn't overdo the speed yesterday tempting as it was.

Glad youre off it though, a really nasty one.

He's completely wrong about lower chances of addiction, he was sold that lie by the pharmaceutical rep who sold him a percentage of the tramadol sales.

It is addictive. And it's fucked up. Withdrawing from an opiate is enough, along with an antidepressant its one of the most fucked up w/ds i've had and i've cold turkeyed benzos, opiates, amphetamines, gabas, ect. Lol.

Many, many drug interactions with the tramadol dude you gotta be careful. Take it if its what you have to work with man, pain is worse. Remember though, if you start to exceed your dose.... you can really, really hurt yourself... more so than classic opiates.

If your doc is set on tramadol and it's covered by your healthcare in the UK I'd strongly, strongly recommend the XR form. Extended release.

It has way more opiate / painkilling effect, and does not make you feel as tweaked out or wired as the instant release tablets.

They are real expensive here in the USA though.

I totally agree. It is just too dirty IMHO. If you wan't mild to moderate pain relief choose hydrocodone or codeine. For the AD effects take an AD. If you're in a situation where the doc doesn't wan't to prescribe hydrocodone ask for codeine instead. Tramadol has way too many MOAs! 8(
