Hi guys I'm new here. I have looked at this forum a number of times in the past for all things drug related. It helps us all to keep safe.

Basically, I have been taking around 400mg of Tramadol a day for 2 weeks for pain relief. The last 100mg I took was this morning at 10:00am.

I'm going to a rave tomorrow night & I'm looking at taking a couple of good ecstasy tablets. Is this safe? Should I do this?

It's better to be safe than sorry and not do so, though I don't know for sure how long the Antidepressant properties of Tramadol last.
It's usually the case, when you come off an Antidep and start another to wait atleast 2 weeks.
I'll send this over to BDD as that is where combination questions belong.

EADD ---> BDD

I'd avoid it. Both are known to lower seizure threshhold, so together it might be a bit risky. Combining SNRI with a stim can also risk problems like serotonin syndrome.

Thanks for the advice.

I will leave it. I just might not be able to dance until 5am drug free haha.

I'm opiate naive but from what I've read of Tramadol's anti-depressant actions I get the impression it does have some serotinergic action & adding another serotinergic compound could be problematic.

I agree, better safe than sorry, give it a miss & sit out the last couple hours, if you're nakkered Lol Good decision Flyn!

The tramadol will nullify the MDMA nearly completely. The seizure risk is still present, but tramadol will block most of the effects so sought after with MDMA.

^ Yeah, tramadol has SNRI (serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor) properites, so it is serotinergic. Half-life is 5-7 hours, so 100mg should be out of your system, but if you've been on it for a couple of weeks then it is possible that the SNRI effects have fully kicked in, and it can take longer to undo this and return your serotonin levels to normal. There is a risk of serotonin syndrome (although probably fairly small) but the tramadol will indeed likely damped the MDMA effects a great deal as your serotonin receptors have been downregulated. Probably best leave it - good decision :)

Since this has been answered you you have decided what to do, I'm going to close it, but feel free to shoot me a pm if you have any queries! Have fun :D
