Tramadol + Codeine/promethazine?

So basically took my last 8 tram today, and i've been sick with strep so i FINALLY got called in some cough syrup and antibiotics. I hate going to the doctor because i always get sick the NEXT week, but they always want you THERE for refills.

I've had a total of 425mg of tramadol today(thats a standard pain-relief dose for me, more than Rxd though, about 500+ to get any "high"), and i could still feel better ie. headache, sore thraot, sore from workout etc..

So i just got my bottle of codeine/prometeh.

I always check Webmd interactions and it says all three drugs have MAJOR interactions. I did not know this till i had had 1 fl. oz of codeine to boost the tramadol.


Will i be ok?

Tramadol undergoes demethylation into O-desmethyltramadol (M1) through enzyme CYP2D6 which promethazine is an inhibitor of. Ultimately this would hinder the M1 conversion.

Promethazine is also a neuroleptic which lowers the seizure threshold, effectively increasing the seizure risk when co-ingested with tramadol. It's also a dysphoric substance, and may tarnish the SRA/NRI properties of tramadol.

Codeine and tramadol don't mix particularly well, you'll find that you're wasting each drug by practicing this combination IMO.
 
thanks for the reply bro. I actually drank about 1.5 fl oz and it, with the tramadol, had me feeling painless.

I wouldn't necesarryly call either of these drugs 'euphoric' except maybe codeine and tramadol alone, along with mary jane(which i also smoked a good .5 gram of some good shit to the face last night).

One thing that is GREAT about this combo tho is that i slept like a baby that had been shot up with Versed.

My s.o. had to turn off the t.v which was still on at 5 am, and blaring too lol. Normally just the LIGHT from the t.v. distracts me.
