Hello. Having a boring day off so this afternoon I necked 200mg of Tramadol which was nice. Had house to myself so had a nice relaxing bath so I plugged 120 (2x60mg) tablets. :) Everything feels fine. However, here is the point of my thread. This weekend I was given 2x10mg Novartis Ritalins a drug I've never played with before. I suppose it's five hours since my last 50mg Tram tabs. I'm hoping to morph this rather pleasant nod into a bit of energy. Would you take the rits? Something tells me it may not be a good idea. Would be greatful for any info. Peace:):)

Sorry the 2x60mg up the bum was Codeine Phosphate.

I don't think its a good idea either. Mixing Ritalin (methylphenidate) with the tramadol could cause seizures, as both of these drugs lower the seizure threshold. I would avoid taking the methylphenidate if I were you.

Use the codeine for the rit come down

I prefer the ritalin high > amps...but the duration of ritalin and the comedown make me like amps more

Many thanks ihaveADD. I was thinking along those lines. It's nearly midnight now and I fancied a few DVD's or whatever! I suppose it would be ok to take the rits tomorrow eve and to, as you suggested, use the codeine for the come down?

Yep. Save those methylphenidate pills for another day. Tramadol is tricky drug when it comes to mixing with other drugs because it has serotonin releasing and opiate agonist properties, in addition to being a NMDA receptor antagonist and 5-HT2C receptor antagonist.

Always check a trusted drug interactions checker before mixing tramadol and other drugs, better safe than sorry.

Cheers Neighborhood. Will be staying away from the Ritalin this eve. Appreciate your feedback.

Just had a quick glance at the 'Interactions Checker.' Looks really useful. Much appreciated.
