Would this be a good mix, like 200mg of tram, and 0.50mg of sub and build up from there?
or would it be a pointless mix?

There's very little on bluelight regarding subutex and tramadol, yet lots about suboxone and tramadol. Using google though there's plenty of off-site threads regarding subutex and tramadol.

My father in law uses this combo daily as opiate maintenance and chronic pain. subutex at 14mg and tramadol at 600mg, he doesnt appear to have any problems with it except excess sweating. Hes a big guy though so sweating is a occupational hazard.lol

Actually Tramadol and Buprenorphine (Subutex/Suboxone) are great together; Tramadol is one of the very few opioids that is not blocked by Buprenorphine and still binds to opioid receptors and combining the two has a synergistic effect and a high that lasts for at least 8-12 hrs IF you are opiate/opioid tolerant, if you have no tolerance to opiates/opioids then you'll probably get high for at least 2 days as Buprenorphine has an extremely long half-life and Tramadol has a relatively long half-life. The combination is quite euphoric and pleasurable and can be a little 'speedy' at the beginning but then it slowly smooths itself out and eventually you'll be nodding your ass off.
As for doses, I'd say for a non-tolerant person 0.2mg-0.5mg of Buprenorphine depending whether the consumer is opioid-naive along with 50mg-150mg of Tramadol; A tolerant and experienced opiate/opioid user should use around 2mg-8mg of Buprenorphine and 200mg-600mg (maybe even more if you are experienced with Tramadol as it is a very unique opioid).
You should use a low dose of benzodiazepines if you're planning to do this though seeing as both Tramadol and Buprenorphine lower the siezure threshold; I'd recommend a long-acting benzo like Clonazepam (klonopin) or Diazepam (Valium) seeing as they both have long half-lives.
If you're planning to get really fucked up then smoke a few bowls on top of that and you'll be in heaven ;).

I find it to be really weird personally. Makes the tramadol extra strong and a bit uncomfortable for ME

Over 400mg tramadol can cause seizures, from what I hear, especially in combos. I heard of someone dying from 900mg

IME this is true. Many say that you should dose the tramadol after the bupe, because of the blockade effect of both bupe and naloxone (but the naloxone is proven to basically be inactive, so don't even both taking it into consideration IMO. Buprenorphine has a much higher affinity for the opi receptors than naloxone) and the fact that bupe is a potent partial-agonist, but the best synergy I ever got outta' tramadol and bupe was back when I was still attending a local community college and took about 350mg of tramadol + 50mg diazepam and a couple hours later took 2mg of Suboxone (the "less is more" statement about buprenorphine is most certainly true dose no more than 2mg, but since sublingual BA isn't 100%, you can take 4mg sublingually and it = 2mg bupe; I find many people are happy with doses <2mg). I was nodding face! I never thought the synergy between these very mildly euphoric drugs, and tramadol- being such a weak opioid, could reach such a significant opioid-euphoria. If I hadn't known any better, I would've assumed I had been on a high dose of morphine or another potent, sedating mu-opioid full agonist!

I could never obtain that magic again after getting on Suboxone maintenance, very unfortunately. I blame my ridiculous desensitization of my opioid receptors on the bupe I was kept on by my "addiction specialist" for over a fucking year... well, and the IV heroin/opi's I abused the fuck out of. Tramadol just feels uncomfortable and useless to me these days, I'd much prefer kratom or oxycodone in terms of a stimulating opioid.
