I've never taken tramadol before but I typically take 150mg of lyrica a day. Lyrica usually takes at least a couple hours to for me to feel (if I even do) and from what I read tramadol is similar. I'm thinking 100mg lyrica...1 hour later another 50mg lyrica + 50mg tramadol with the last 50mg tramadol an hour after that.

A couple of other things to note: I will be doing kratom and a benzo the night before so hopefully no interaction there and I'll be taking these when I wake up so I'll be needing at least 200mg caffeine as well. :)

benzo's and opiates (tramadol synthetic opiate yeh?) can lead to respiratury failure. this i only found out a few weeks ago when some friends were reserching on a med students university account.

that said i've mixed benzo's and presciption opiates together a few times an im not dead. but i'd think twice about it now. it wasnt a one off finding. an i certainly wouldnt take me being alive as a good example. as most people are confused about how im still here.

when you say lyrica your talking pregabalin yes? which i was explained exactly of how it works, unfortunately i cant recall exactly.

are you eating or snorting lyrica? is the tramadol sr?

what are you hoping from the tramadol compared to what you get (?) from the lyrica.

Prebabalin yes, I only swallow them and the tramadol is IR. I get pain relief from lyrica and not much else but I also have never taken recreational doses of it. I'm hoping to get the most out of the two in terms of a safe feel good and any additional pain relief would be a plus. If it works good I'll bring it up with my doctor next time I see her.

I'm aware of the whole benzo and opiate thing but pregabalin isn't a benzo. :) I've mixed lyrica and low doses of kratom many times and take 100mg lyrica with 15mg temazepam 2-3 times a week.

Leave out the caffeine, it will make you feel ogerstimulated with tramadol. The tramadol will wake you up, it is a stimulant with NRI.

Take 150-300mg lyrica, and 50-100mg tramadol. The lyrica will help prevent a seizure. It is actually safer to take tramadol with lyrica than to take tramadol alone

I'm not so sure if lyrica works as an anticonculsant if you do not use it regularly. I think it has to build up in your system to have it's anticonvulsant effect. Either way it's not like benzos since I once thought it (or rather gabapentin) would be enough to stop me from having a seizure when I was out of klonopin, it did not.

Waking up isn't the problem, my body being used to 400-500mg caffeine (and kratom 2-3 mornings a week) within 2 hours of me waking up is. Other than the caffeine how does it look for the two to come on at the same time? With tramadol my searches come up from anywhere to 30 min to 2+ hours.

Tramadol induces tonic-clonic/generalized/grand-mal seizures. Pregabalin is only effective at controlling partial/localized seizures and mostly as an adjunct. It's ineffective at controlling the types of seizures that tramadol provoke. Keep a benzodiazepine in the mix whenever your doing tramadol in order to keep seizurogenic activity at bay if that is a concern.

As others have mentioned the doses you are taking are fine. Co-ingesting pregabalin and tramadol in controlled doses is common as they have good synergy.

Ok, since I plan on taking a benzo the night before I have lorazepam, diazepam, alprazolam and temazepam on hand. Without looking it up I'm guessing the lorazepam and diazepam would probably be the best. With diazepams long half life would taking 10mg the night before help? I suppose I could do .5mg lorazepam at the same time as the tramadol but seeing as much as lyrica potentiate benzos I'm afraid I'd sleep through everything.

Taking diazepam the night before would definitely help, but just to be on the safe side you should take a very low dose diazepam (2.5 milligrams) with the tramadol and cut the dose of pregabalin you intend to take in half. If you feel like the sedation is adequate stay at that, if not then titrate the pregabalin up slowly.

Well I ended up do just that.

7.5 diazepam the night before
50mg pregabalin at noon, 1:00pm and 6:00pm
50mg tramadol and 2.5mg diazepam at 2:00 with the other 50mg tramadol at 3:00

It did take my back pain away ALL DAY but overall the effects just felt like I was just on a high dose of benzo. I felt no stimulation from the tramadol, I was tired but wasn't fighting to stay awake. Thanks to all that helped.

Both pregabalin and benzodiazepines dock the release of norepinephrine, the neurotransmitter than provides the stimulation from tramadol.

When I face a similar problem, I leave a couple of hours or more after the dose of benzodiazepine and pregabalin to take the tramadol. In all honesty though, since your taking such low doses of tramadol, the 2.5 milligrams alone without the 7.5 milligrams the night before would be enough to deny any seizurogenic activity. Especially if pregabalin is present as well.

BUMP sorry, I just want to bring this up.. 900mg of lyrica, it feels very much like this could go into a seizure for some people. I have very high tolerance to pretty much everything, but I can definitely tell this is the type of thing to throw you into a seizure. Ive had seizures before withdrawling from klonopin and I felt very similar to how I feel now before I seized out. Fortunately Im not going to seize because Im taking clonazepam with it. But yes ulra high doses can cause seizures.

That must be why it totally squashed my two week amphetamine bender. Because it extingueshed the norepinephrine like a fire extinguisher. I was spun the hell out and after taking the lyrica I feel like I never took an adderall before. Amazing.
