Tramadol, a bizarre drug

For most, tramadol is a weak, almost useless (semi)opiod drug. But for some of us, like me, about .1% of the population, tramies bring moderate to major mental and physical stimulation, as well as a very nice euphoria, almost like a mild dose of meth. Anybody else like this? And anyone know why us little .1% get like this, while most opiate users think this drugs is a joke? P.S. I have used everything from Vicodin to Opana(oxymorphone) so I'm not a lightweight, yet this dumb little 50mg pill still gets me off better than a lot of other drugs. Any comment?

I'm another that responds very well to tramadol, 150-200mg get me quite high I just wish I had access to it.

tramadol itself is a weak opioid but it is methabolized to O-desmethyltramadol which has like 200 times more mu receptor affinity.

i remember reading somewhere somewhen that some people metabolize better/quickier tramadol to O-desmethyltramadol and hence enjoy it more/find it more potent. or was that codeine being methabolized to morphine? i don't know really... don't quote me on that

either one, codeine-morphine or tramadol-Odesmethyltramadol, is the same thing.
Its a liver enzyme thing. Its either how your body works or it isnt.

I personally respond really well to both tramadol and codeine but cant use tram anymore as it doesnt mix well with my anti-D.

Tramadol is definitely a weird drug.......my liver can't break it down like other in this thread but I do get the mood elevation, euphoric type feeling like taking a mood enhancer but I can't get high with it & it doesn't do much at all for my back pain

My liver tho breaks down codeine very well.........love codeine!

I wish I could get 12 hour pain relief from tramadol......if anything, I think tramadol should be prescribed for depression, its excellent for it IMO!

tramadol is great for depression, and it seems to have a positive effect on fatigue, basically like super smooth stimulation( for people who cant or

don't like stims) with a mood lift to even euphoria, and some endurance and suppression of pain/appetite. I love it, I know a lot of people hate it

but it seems to hit all the right buttons. there is really nothing odd about it, it has the potential to be one of the best fast acting anti depressants, it

hits NMDA (as a Antagonist), releases 5-ht, it is a antagonist @ the 5-ht2c -releasing dopamine if I am correct,

and binds to mu opioid receptor itself, and its metabolite o-desmethyltramadol is a more potent mu agonist which also is a NRI,

( its a promiscuous slutty compound)

works wonders for certain people, its great, ............and to be honest if a lot of people hate on it or don't like it that's fine, it has a cult following

because it works wonders.
