In my mind. The choices are many, the consequences
Ok, so as I said in my pluggin post, Trams are givin me nods. Only thing now is I feel like I'm havin mild seizures. If I give in to the nod my whole body jerks a few times or I twich so hard I toss my phone. Just something each time. Never experienced this before.
QUESTION: Can I take 1-2 mgs of Xanax to get this to stop? My panic/anxiety is scarin the heck outta me!!
BTW, I was redosin only 50 mgs but if I remember right I didn't take more than 400 mgs. Sucks that I find out Trams do work on me. But not for this cost! NEVER again!
Anyway, any advice welcome!!! I'm tryin to stay awake bc of this now. Will the Xanax help any?
I'm also gettin disassociated moments where I feel "out of my body".
Yeah, I'm flushin the rest of this shit! Sorry, I'm rambelin bc I'm scared...

Still no ideas? Lookin like no sleep for me tonight :(

EDIT: I ate some chips and feel like I'm in more of a natural, relaxed state! Goin to try the sleep thing again. That was some scary shit!
Does it sound like I was havin a reaction to Tranadoll? Or was I completely in a panic attack only, but yet I never felt panicked except when I was jerkin around and involuntary tossin my phone.
Freaky...

If you do take the xanax I would start out at small dose just incase it overwhelms your already slow respiratory system right now since you plugged over 400mg of tram.

No, didn't plug. Did the 2 hr redose of 50 mgs 3 or 4 times plus my 100 mg start.
I keep twitchin tho. Took bout 15-20 mins to make this readable!
My poor kitten is the one gettin the brunt of it. She's layin around my neck and I keep jerkin and somehow punchin her light :/ I hate involuntary movements!

There's a difference between having a muscle spasm and a full blown seizure.. the decision is yours and I'm not going to recommend you continue taking the drug but it seems to me anxiety got the best of you. If you have a tolerance to xanax, take 1 mg and relax.

Edit: I pulled this off of wikipedia

"Myoclonus( /maɪˈɒklənəs/) is a brief, involuntary twitching of a muscle or a group of muscles. It describes a medical sign and, generally, is not a diagnosis of a disease. Brief twitches are perfectly normal. The myoclonic twitches are usually caused by sudden muscle contractions; they also can result from brief lapses of contraction."

"Myoclonic seizures can be described as "jumps." They are caused by rapid contraction and relaxation of the muscles. People without epilepsy can suffer small but similar jerks in the form of hiccups or brief twitches. These are perfectly normal."

"Familiar examples of normal myoclonus include hiccups and hypnic jerks that some people experience while drifting off to sleep. Severe cases of pathologic myoclonus can distort movement and severely limit a person's ability to sleep, eat, talk, and walk. Myoclonic jerks commonly occur in individuals with epilepsy. The most common types of myoclonus include action, cortical reflex, essential, palatal, those seen in the progressive myoclonus epilepsies, reticular reflex, sleep, and stimulus-sensitive.
."

"Rarely does myoclonus indicate anything other than arbitrary muscle contraction. Myoclonus may develop in response to infection, head or spinal cord injury, stroke, stress, brain tumors, kidney or liver failure, lipid storage disease, chemical or drug poisoning, as a side effect of certain drugs (such as tramadol and quinolones), or other disorders."

"Jerks of muscle groups, much of the body, or a series in rapid succession which results in the person jerking bolt upright from a more relaxed sitting position is sometimes seen in ambulatory patients being treated with high doses of morphine, hydromorphone and similar drugs, and is possibly a sign of high and/or rapidly increasing serum levels of these drugs. Myoclonic jerks also can be caused by some unrelated drugs such as anticholinergics. Opioids which have other neurotransmitter impacts such as tramadol, pethidine, &c. can also cause jerks, but unlike the above are not completely benign."

Here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myoclonus

Seems like you already went to sleep, but hopefully that gives you some peace of mind about the situation when you wake up ;)

400mg is the level I often see regarding the point at which seizures are possible - not probably. Big difference. Any sort of anti-convulsant will negate the seizure threshold reducing effect of Tramadol. As in, you'll get back to an effective "zero point" so to say - they out-weigh one another.

I'm Rx'd 2mg/day clonazepam and 200mg/day Tramadol, from what I understand, even at 400mg/day of the Tramadol, I'm not at a risk for seizures (due to the clonazepam) - at least at no higher risk. Do not take more than that amount. Doesn't matter that your PO took everything else away - Tramadol isn't something to screw around with. It has a sub-profile as an SNRI - antidepressant. I wouldn't want to be taking 8x the recommended per-dose intake of an antidepressant, personally.

Hybris - I see it mentioned Tramadol BUT I also see it mentioned kidney failure. That coupled with my last kidney test has me concerned.
I'll definitely be bringin this up to my dr. I hope it's not my kidneys gettin worse.
I did finally pass out due to exhaustion but I'm now interested in this kidney comnection. Thanks for the link. I'm gonna do a bit of research.

I'm not sure how good of an anticonvulsant xanax is. I at least know that it is not known for its anticonvulsant properties like some other benzos (valium for example) are.

Without trying to repeat what other's have said, if you are used to Xanax then take your regular dose, it should help with the muscle spasms. Don't take more than usual of you may have trouble breathing.

Tramadol affects everyone differently.. some people like myself can take 1500 mg in a day and not have any problem.. others can take 200 mg and seize out.. if you have warning signs that you are the type that will seize then I would stay away from it
