I have to say, since i've joined I have been taken back by the amount of chemistry, biology, and pharmacology some posters seem to have an understanding of. Are there professionals/academia people out there posting on these forums?

Where are you all developing this understanding between structure and activity? specifically of the 5HT2A antagonists? I've read Shulgins stuff, but he is more of a chemist than anything else. The psychopharmacology knowledge of some users is beyond what he discusses in his books

Start a thread like this in ADD too, you'll probably get more answers although I know there is a couple of 'em here in PD.

There are some graduate students and professionals that lurk around here. Most of that knowledge you get with a degree in chemistry.

Learned from erowid, upgraded to bluelight :)...thats about it. Only know answers to the questions that I personally asked at one time or another but i'm a curious fellow about the substances I like so I can get the facts out.

People with interests in psychoactive chemicals come from all walks of life :) from PhD to drop out

You would be suprised how much you could teach yourself through the internet.

All my knowledge comes from reading books and the Internet, from personal experiences and other people's experiences.

There are quite a few undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate level Bluelighters in the various fields relating to drugs, chemistry, pharmacology, psychology, etc etc
