My heart catches in my throat
As the world watches it all...
And sobs wrack the room
As the Twin Towers fall.
Uncontrollably tears fall from my eyes
And i'm not the only one...
On TV we hear the muffled screams...
We watch the people start to run
Its like a nightmare brought to life
The death cloud covers that brilliant city
A city I danced in many many times,
That will never again look so pretty
2 states away and i'm terrified
I hug my pillow and pray
We lose some 50,000 or more brothers and sisters
On what started out as an ordinary tuesday
I look at my life and all that i've lost
and it seems like nothing compared to this
I cant fathom what those people thought...
Those last few seconds before this crisis
People jumping from windows just hoping to live,
Hundreds of men in yellow coats risking their lives
Some coming back out, and some not
People losing their mother and fathers, husbands and wives...
Somewhere someone is smiling about this
They are gloating at the destruction they caused
For a moment in American history,
The world has again been put on pause
A moment of silence, to those of you souls
Who died in New York in this tragic way.
I pray that you will find some peace
You're in our hearts today.
